Oh? This is surprising as the Draco STB can do. Waiting for Samsung and LG owners to confirm......
Spoke with someone at Best Denki, and he claims that none of the brands can record DVB-T2 currently (DVB-T yes, DVB-T2 no).

Agreed...Sometimes you have to take the advice from sales people with a pinch of salt. Once I asked one, also from BD, whether the stand for W800C series could be used for wall mount (knowing well that it could). But that salesman said no!Lol that salesman obviously knows nuts. I have DVB-T2 TVs from both Samsung and LG and they can both record
Anyone brought the 75 x8500c ? Any feedback on this model?
I bought from best denki and waiting for the delivery. Just hope everything is alright.
Mustafa centre is selling for $6389 with wall mount + 4 pair 3d glasses. Hdmi cable and 1 touch remote. That was the price before 31 july. Not so sure now but I assumed the price is remain the same.
i just got vpn recently and was wondering has anyone successfully install netflix on x8500c?
...How about you trying it out?
...This is true in your case if the wired speed of the nic is only 100M instead of 1G, assuming there is nothing wrong with the cable.
Where did you all bought the sets ah? I tried finding at Harvey Norman and Best Denki but don't have. The prices quoted are like $600-800 for similar models.
Thanks for the update. In the user manual (for W800C) trouble shooting section:Confirmed: same 5GHz WLAN, the moment I toggle the network not to broadcast, the TV can't hook onto it; & when I toggle to network SSID to broadcast (become visible), the TV hook onto it with no issue (don't even need me to do anything, since I'd connected the TV to this same network before using the same valid credentials).
Ok. Using the user manual as reference again, the W800C has fast ethernet only.definitely nothing wrong with the cable (& this LAN point), because I can wire a laptop directly to it & hit above 100Mbps consistently.

Thanks for the update. In the user manual (for W800C) trouble shooting section:
Cannot find the required network name in
network setup.
Select [[Manual entry]] and press to enter
network name.
It looks like you have to connect it manually for hidden SSID...

I don't have any Sony TV - still haven't got down to buy one yet. I checked the online manual...
My model is the 55X8500C; though I'm sure both are rather similar.
Btw, does your W800C come with hard copy user manual?

Finally got my 75X8500C wall mounted..
Best denki is selling at the best price at $6599(from listed price $6699). I used my maybank CC to offset another $100 and the sale guy gave another additional $100 thru his own "pocket" so total is $6399 with bluetooth keyboard given, plus total x 4 3d glasses and wall mount. Delievery fee is waived after i mentioned the price offered by mustafa. They claimed that mustafa price is unbelievable. Really appreciated the sale staff to make a deal with me.
After a few hours of day time viewing, here my mini review. Based on my current viewing distance of 2.6m to 2.8m
Seem to me the upscaling function is automatic, i can't find a option to switch off or on.
HD5 and HD8 look quite alright, for football viewing on starhub BPL(miotv). it doesnt look as good as we want to be. Probably is my viewing distance (less than 3m for 75inch) but somehow i find that the cross coverage qualities from miotv to SH are already inferior even i watching on a 40 inch. I feel the espn champion league video qualities are better. But then if u watch far like 4m to 5m . It is good. (That is expected..)
Bluray watching thru upscaling doesnt really give me a "wow" feel. but can see still a very slight improvement. That why i am asking how can i used the upscale function from the player rather than the tv so that i can compare who is doing the better job.
Not into andriod tv stuff but i tried the youtude 4k video from the apps (not sure it is really in 4k) yes. the Video is definitely better than all the bluray movies that i tried.

Thank them for helping the makers to recover their R & D costs and get the economy going (more employment and multiplier effects) so that people like you and me enjoys lower prices later, haha...That's why it doesn't make a lot of sense to jump into 4k now when most people just use HD content ..
