the bracket will work on most android & iphones except the s3/s4 & note series

for android, connectivity will be either NFC or wifi
whereas iphone will only have wifi

Attaching the camera to a phone is a no-brainer: Just pull one of the spring-loaded arms to adjust to fit. However, a couple people with larger smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Note found they couldn’t attach the camera unless they removed the cover.

The question here is not the price, but about the quality of the camera.

It won't be revealed until someone has spend $250 to become the lab mouses and give us some review... Just imaging you send another $250 and the final photos you receive is on par with the ones from your Z Ultra, then who to blame?

The QX10 will be as good as the Z1. Early tests don't show any surprises, same sensor size. If you want better image quality you have to get a QX100.

I don't think a stand-alone lens system like QX will lose to Z Ultra.

Ultra's pic quality is really quite bad.

Sony’s QX10/QX100 camera attachment for the Xperia Z and Xperia Z1 get priced

The Sony SPA-ACX1 camera attachment is designed for the Xperia Z, whilst the Sony SPA-ACX2 is for the Xperia Z1. Sony says the cases can be used on a day-to-day basis and when the camera is not in use, the case can be closed so as to not expose the attachment area. Both cases weigh around the 20g (0.7 oz) mark. In the UK the cases will cost £25.00, in Europe it will cost €29.00 and in the US it will cost $29.99. They come in black and white colours to match your phone (no purple option unfortunately) and should be available in the next few weeks.

I don't think the lens is the problem. The QX10 has the same 1/2.3" sensor area than the Z1, obviously they will deliver similar results. The only advantage the QX10 has over the Z1 is the optical zoom. The QX100 has a much bigger 1" sensor.
