Singapore price on Sony Website

Bravia 7 Mark II
50" - 3,499
55" - 3,949
65" - 4,799
75" - 7,199
85" - 8,699
98" - 13,399

Bravia 9 Mark II
65" - 7,099
75" - 9,999
85" - 12,499
115" - 32,999

The MSRP price for the B7 Mark II (65", $4,799) seems to be cheaper than the B7 2024 (65", $4,999). This is likely to translate to a price of SGD$1900 for the B7 Mark II 65" during the usual sale period (last quarter of the year) as the B7 2024 65" was seen at $2000-$2200 +- in 2024 multiple times within August - December (Courts, Best Denki etc)

Interestingly this time they are offering a 65" variant of the new B9 II. Let's hope they give an actually enticing price for both these models during the sale period.

Currently what we know is that the B9 II at the 65" size has a very similar amount of local dimming zones than it's predecessor B9 2024, at around 1500 zones (based off current info from Vincent HDTVTest), though this time each of this zones contain 3 different colored light bulbs (Red, Blue, Green). SoC remains unchanged based off the initial reviews, Pentonic 1000 so still there's only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. Interestingly the lower end Bravia 3 II with the Pentonic 800 SoC offers 4x HDMI 2.1 ports. The Screen Coating has also changed from Glossy to a Full Matte type so black floor may be raised in day time or in direct light, due to more ambient light diffusion spread across the screen which Vincent has also indicated in his brief video of the B9 II.

The zone count of the B7 II remains unknown as Caleb (the only review so far), missed out on that infomation, along with contrast ratio, response time and reflection handling. We'll have to wait for Vincent from HDTVTest to review these 2 models which could likely be by the end of next month since he's waiting for review samples to be supplied and these TVs may not be on sale in the UK yet.

Anyone encountered a problem with no image but ok sound on a Bravia?

My KD-43X8500G emits sound from channels and apps, but there is no image. I checked that the backlight was present. I tried disconnecting the power source and all cables for days, and then resetting via the hard power button with no avail. Any other ideas to restore the image?
Tried all the power cycle methods to no avail. Anybody who wants it for repair or parts can make me an offer.
I placed an order for a TCL C6K as I could not refuse the value for money. Hopefully it is more reliable than the late Sony set.

you are expecting a better than 7-year (assuming you bought that in the year of release) reliability for a TV?

I bought on the reputation of the brand for producing TV that performs better than the competition. I own an LG that is 12 years old and a Samsung that is 13. Both outlast the Sony 100%. They are all LED TV, just as heavily used. With these cases for comparison, I expect the Sony to last just as long for its price. Is it not reasonable?

and I am "100%" sure someone else have anecdotal experience of a Sony TV lasting more than 12 years. 7 year lifespan for a TV is reasonable, expecting any TV to last 12 years or more is not.

Which is why I bought Sony, as before this set, I had a CRT Sony that won't quit for over a decade too.
In any case, it is past the tipping point for me to buy another brand that I will feel less sore about losing at the 7 year mark.

Just be aware that the TCL Agent in Singapore has an unusually high amount of bad reputation in the TCL thread compared to the other respective brands threads (LG, Sony, Samsung etc). Reading through more than 10 pages and it seems like it is not too advisable to proceed with TCL. If you hit the jackpot and your TCL unit does not require any warranty claim then it should be all good. Perhaps Hisense Singapore might be a little better in after sales if we are comparing the Chinese manufacturers based off the threads and posts available here.

i am contemplating a Sony Bravia 5 and TCL C8L...

the Bravia 5 looks good while the TCL C8L or QM8L (in US) is getting lots of good review but I had yet to see the set itself.

I acknowledge that there is a myriad of issues all attributable to the local distributor which they owned up. Thanks. See how it goes.

Very important IMO to get the warranty from the sellers. HN and BD service and support will trump that of the individual brands...

disagree on this. extended warranty adds costs, and is mathematically designed to favour the retailer.

For sure extended warranty would have worked for some. It's akin to a roulette in a casino, it works for some, and doesn't work for many. Overall the odds are in the favour of the house.

There is still a difference between Harvey Norman Product Care and Best Denki Safety5 extended warranty. Harvey Norman Product Care is better because Best Denki Safety5 compensation will depreciate over the period of warranty.

Yeah, I had two warranty claims, both with very satisfactory outcomes. So it's something I'll look out for now, TV brand not withstanding

having a Bravia 7. The TV speaker doesn't sound that loud. Would be better for you to buy a soundbar
