Just received my earbuds. Experiencing some ear fatigue just less than 1 hour of wearing it. Hope I can get used to them…
Technique is crucial to put them on. Main aim is not to hurt and injure your ears so you can wear them comfortably. Also make sure you try as many times on the different buds sizes till you are comfortable with the size best fit and comfort.

After a few tries (pain to my soft bones as well) I use this method :

1. Clean your ears from oil and dirt. Put on your earbud pointing outwards towards mouth (gold microphone part in ear , touch sensor towards mouth ). I use my thumb to push between the earlobe so as not to hurt the soft bone.
2. Slowly wriggle in using all 3 fingers, focus on using thumb to exert more pressure on the golden microphone area so as to let the foam buds sit in properly (Remember the no air leakage for tight seal).
3. Slowly rotate it backwards to let the buds rest on the earlobe and don't press hard to injure the soft bones.
4. Again focusing pressure on the golden microphone area wriggle again until it sits comfortably without hurting the soft bone or any parts of your ear. When you finally did that, you will feel a "lock" similar to the wf1000xm3 (I felt it ).

Can try change ear tips also from third parties. The nozzle is a bit short, so long tips will lift the buds off the ear a bit and will relieve the pressure on the ear.

Finally my set @$314 arrived..

My initial impression is using the default foam tips the 1000XM4 sound darker... i changed to my own modded JVC spiral dot tips with foam and it sound so much better... Mids and high all open up.... Need to use LDAC... ACC sucks.... i am not really impressed by the ANC.. using my modded JVC tips already cut of majority of the noise.. The ANC does helps to further enhanced it..

Comparing WF1000XM4 (LDAC) with Soundpeats H1 (APTX ADAPTIVE)... maybe the drivers not yet fully burn in but the SOundpeats H1 beats the SONY up down left right interm of Sound Quality.. Sony SQ is a more balanced SQ where it suit most music types... The H1 bass goes deep and impactful and the high is more crystal clear then the sony. However Sony has a slight edge in term of soundstage.

After listening for few hours.. The Sony wf-1000xm4 is still sounding darker compare to Soundpeats H1. ANC does further reduce noise.. But dun expect dead silent even with foam tips. Comparing ANC with tronsmart Air+ is a big step up.

I feel the h1 is extreme V shape. While the Sony has a slight sub and mid bass boost with a quite linear mids and highs. The micro details retrieval on the Sony is superb.

The magnet on the Sony is very strong.. Lol.

If your device dun support LDAC then dun bother to buy.. Get 1000xm3 is better.

LDAC at 990kb is wow. Sound more dynamic then default (best adaptive).. But need to developer mode to set every time.. But I believe most can't tell the different.

The 1000xm4 is too dark sounding... EQ switch to treble boost compensate the weakness..

Which phone did you pair with?

On my Xperia 1 II, once I switch to Priority on Sound Quality in the headphone app, a notification pop out and I can choose between Sound quality preferred (high bitrate) or best effort for LDAC settings. The settings also stay no need set every time. These setting can also be assessed in the Bluetooth settings.

I personally find switching to the Sony hybrid tip sounded better than the stock foam tip as well...

Received mine today. No woosh sounds so far. The volume is quite soft imo.
Besides the headphones application there's another "music center" application. Download it. And if you also have it, open and connect your earbuds to it. Go in and set Bluetooth volume to maximum. Its also the application where you turn on LDAC for those whose using Sony phones because under development mode you cannot turn on LDAC for Sony mobile.

In general volume is definitely louder than my WF1000XM3.

I am using redmi k30 pro.. When I select sound quality preferences.. There is no pop out.. Instead it show ldac instead of aac.

Think is more on the foam tips. Got a bad seal on those. Switch to Spinfit CP100 and suddenly notice the detail retrieval, albeit the odd tune. Or maybe just my mind adjusting from a12t. Thanks for the recommendation though.
