I have the GP-VPT2BT grip. The remote is fixed. I tried a third party remote but the shooting button didn't work. It changed lens instead of shooting.
Yeah so I'm kind of torn because I find that non detachable remote is kind of odd especially if I want to take a group photo. But third party compatibility issues are definitely show stoppers.

I received my 1v yesterday and set it up during the day. The phone remained cool during all the process. I 'm very happy with the thermal performance.

My only problem is when operating with the Bluetooth remote that came with a selfie stick tripod, the shooting button on the remote cannot trigger the shooting function. My Sony GP-VPT2BT does work well.

Other that that, everything works great so far.
Actually you can trigger the shooting function using your normal bluetooth remote. Try set volume up / down as shutter button . Remember to switch back because after that your keyboard might not be able to press the send message function ( because of your programming. Just remember to switch back).

Thank you very much for the tip! The remote now works as expected. What you mean "might not be able to press the send message function"? In which app?

The message keyboard might not work properly. IT will not pop up during your connection with the bluetooth remote. But can be returned back to normal after you program back the volume as shutter button to normal default camera setting , or you disconnect your remote bluetooth connection.

IT was discussed before in previous pages you can see and decide for yourself. Basically the supporting channels are totally same but different countries might do different configurations . Again make your final decision.

PS.
My xperia 1 was hong kong set and it works . But that was not 5g era yet.

Another video . Different folks different strokes

I receive the screen protector from Mobilelite this afternoon. Then I payed $5 to get a downstair mobile shop to install it for me. It was perfectly done. Now I feel more assured putting the phone in my pocket.

I received my hybrid case from mobilelite. OMG how crazy is it that it fits even better than the free leather case??? There's almost no gap between the case frame and my screen protector. Ok give credit where it's due also, I kaki paste until swee swee :ROFLMAO:

I was at Sim Lim Square yesterday, confirmed that Orient Electronics (4th floor phone accessories shop) and at least one of the Burlington Square mobile shops have Xperia 1 V screen protectors or case too

I got a simple tempered glass from Orient Electronics to tong first, will most probably find time this weekend or next to get case elsewhere since so far I still prefer that textured grippy feel of the official stand/case

For camera protector, best to still buy from Mobilelite it seems, will have to check with them

See page 14 post by GeSteSoh. His picture already pasted the camera protector together with sony kickstands case. Fits nicely. That lens protector is from mobilelite.

Yes all fit nicely :)... But where to find screen protector for the VLog monitor❓ o_O

Thanks both of you for the confirm, will check in with Mobilelite too for that!

As for the vlog monitor, I think you can check out shops with those custom mobile screen protector printers and let them measure the screen and stick on the spot for you. iirc Orient Electronics has such service and did that for my XZs when I requested for matte surface. Will find time to have them try for the vlog monitor too

I was watching Juan Bagnell youtube video and read some of his comments . HE mentioned using main sensor as macro (zoom up to 2 times ) which is also making sense because the sensor produces more vibrant colors and is faster. You can shoot from closer distance too ! Plus his sample shots also did not lose much quality !

Shall play some macro shots when available. :p

Update : tried out setting . Photo pro auto . Touch focus continuous focusing to get nearest distance (around 10cm)
