Speaking about Japanese handphones, if you want to use Osaifu Keitai (aka Japanese e-money, which means you can use your phone as a PASMO/SUICA), you do need a phone with their Felicia chip

This means unfortunately, Singapore Xperia 1 V dont have this chip. Need to really fly to Japan to get their phones that have that chip

So Hiam leh you haha
Ya what for that sort of price Sony charges for its earbuds I hiam more

I tested the XM5 earbuds, I find that it is too glossy for Singaporean climate; if your hands sweaty it will look very oily and bad. The new round design will take time to get used to from the usual round disc design

Also more importantly, for some reason it does not have a mesh. Really need to ensure you got clear the earbuds regularly or use tips with mesh (this is why their new eartips all got mesh)

Sound-wise it is somewhat cleaner but too lean for my liking; like too analytical. I can't get their spatial thingy to work when testing in shop,

Will suggest to use the roadshows to test properly before deciding since this is a big change from XM4

Haha for sound quality wise you set your earbuds to your own customized equalizer it should sound very good just like wf1000xm4.

But I do want to give it a test including the mesh buds because it is really more compact than wf1000xm4 and should hold in ears longer and cause less ear fatigue / delay longer.

I do also agree the expensive pricing. Always made us eat lots of grass to save up ...

Anyway , some food shots :

And this youtuber uses same macro mode (lytia sensor)

You know any shops that might stock them?

Regrettably no. I do sometimes buy Japanese stuffs from buyee/rakuten, so far all sellers that I met had been very reliable. Even sakurawatches mailed over a second time just because I left a remark that I did not get the original watch box.

Maybe it is Japanese culture.

Yeah it's a sad thing coz we are using Sony phones yet they only bother with that chip for their domestic models. Apple iPhones on the other hand actually work regardless where you buy it from.

We could have gone down that route had we not changed from Sony Felicia for our ezlink to the CEPAS local standard, but perhaps that was needed to be able to use bank cards directly.

Yeah I remember if you shone a very bright torchlight through the old ezlink card you can see both the antenna coil, chip as well as the Sony logo

Sadly I was not allowed by Sony staff to test their mesh eartips cos they cannot sanitise them with alcohol wipes

iirc their 5G bands are used here as 5G too but as always, only phones meant to be sold in Singapore can be fully trusted to work with all local bands and vice versa for Japan-sold phones

Oh ya, iPhone got global Felicia... Maybe gotta test that out in next trip

ngl, if next Xperia phone offer that too I will consider it strongly

The last one in cloud ah?

The clouds are those cirrus ones as seen in all the other photos, the Auto mode for some reason changed the SS from 1/1000 to 1/500 in those 2 X1V shots, maybe cos the half shutter was on a slightly different area to focus, before taking the shot.

Should be it finally grasp the color of the scene. Sometimes the color will take a little while to expose correctly .

Can our photo shown fully on the tv?

I tried screen to my tv and the photo is not in full size...
Shoot in 16:9 ratio leh?

Also this video of xperia 1v came quite late but I like how he introduce sony and how Sony don't blindly follow others and created their own style of a compact camera phone with lytia 😁
