Interesting! 1 II is too expensive and I'm not a pro photographer so would be wasted on me.

6" display would be perfect although I'm not sure about the 21:9 ratio at this size. FHD a little disappointing but then no excuse not to include 90/120 hz display.

Hopefully will retain the 3.5mm jack and a much cheaper price point.

Having high refresh rate is nice, but also need careful as some phone takes a display quality hit...eg. greenish tint when turned on/need reduce resolution in order to use 120hz...etc

Besides, high refresh rate also consumes more energy and does not benefit common usage of phone except for certain games.

I don't know about others, but I would go for asus or xiaomi gaming phone if I am playing more games on smartphone, some have better heat dissipation feature.

Overall xperia 1 II is a solid phone but a lot of reviews commented on front camera being weak, hope they’ll fix it on 5 II

for PC it does help with gaming to reduce stuttering... but many want high refresh rates to "watch shows" on the move.

1) movies are shot in 30fps
2) high refresh rate drains battery faster than 4k

People tend to have some expectations on numbers, usually it means higher is better in most situations.
Higher BHP in cars, higher SPF protection, higher numbers on storage or RAM, etc.

Until you see some side effects or disadvantage, they will always capitalise the simple mentality of normal consumers to sell their products in successful style.

human eye cannot see past 60fps anw

That's a myth. There are already so many comparisons and studies on this on the web, just go and look at moving images on 60hz screens vs 120hz and above. The difference is noticeable but is it worth it? Depends on the individual.

That being said though, i honestly don't care about 120hz on phones(and higher resolution screens) since it drains battery by a fair margin

hmm
power button and fingerprint reader splitted?

Think its rumored audio specialized button or a custom button. And by zooming in the power button looks exactly same as xperia 1II fingerprint sensor. Here it looks a bit pop out likely "parallex error".

I think placement too down from the fingerprint reader for a power button. Hope its something useful to justify the extra clutter...

also.. they removed the 3D iTOF sensor? =(
