Yah my Xperia 1 ii kena also but managed to send for warranty on the last month of extended warranty and got a new unit. I don't trust Samsung QC. Exploding phones, exploding washing machines etc. I only buy their SSD but even recently got firmware issues heng I never tio.

the new samsungs cost even more than the 1.6k you paid.

I'm on the 1 III and also facing some issues with heat.

but as he mentioned, the new one is better based on performance and reviews.

If you had read them, you would have had a better idea of whats going on.

How's the phone temperature now after opening photo / video pro for prolonged periods?? I know the benchmark score did improve quite a bit but do not know whether it applies to actual usage.
