Yes, filter replacement cost $$$ especially if they are customised.
Air purifier have different filters for different purposes.
Air ionizer usually don't need filter replacement.
I use ioniser and simple filtration when the need arises. :D

In my (and others) experience, the water is the 1st and last step to solve the throat related issue.

IMHO, your issue could be second hand smoke. You will need to solve that.

Off the counter lozenges don't work for me. The one from my GP, two tablet is the max I use. I relate sugar to inflammation.

Regards to water, there is only this much that you can drink in one moment. Trying to solve second hand smoke, is almost like trying to address a "10 year problem" that cannot be resolved.

Well lozenges for me is just something easier to manage compared to water, but the cost and constant dependency probably aint great for teeth health and yea, the sugar too.

On the water, it is not drink at one go, it is to drink bottled water instead of other types of liquid. I do not have difficulties lozenges vs water. My bottled water is just beside me.

I see second hand smoke similar to haze. Within an area, it is always price vs performance to address the issue.

I once did an experiment when I do a bit of spray painting. Paint have a lingering smell. There is a difference between using an ionizer and not using one. :D

IMHO.
For me, there is a fine line between thirsty and mouth/throat dry.
Bottled water helps me with that and also drinking too much.

Having sore throat < 2 weeks, and recently had mouth ulcer as well.
Recently work up in the morning have runny nose.
Took some vitamin D3 400 IU with some vitamin B12 600 mcu for the past 3-4 days.
Intermittently still come in on and an off. Any solution for me to prevent mouth ulcer and sore throat without going through surgery? I notice one of my tonsil is large then other tonsil since young, the larger one always got problem. Also have the habit of snacking at night.

There are many causes of sore throat:
Acid Reflux - Non infectious sore throat
Viral -won't see pus
Bacterial - will see pus, will get swollen lymph node

IMHO.
Every couple of months, you will ask these questions.
The issues may be caused by your sugar intake and I think I have gave you suggestions.
I pretty sure you have not tried it.
However, I read you have a new issue.

You likely need iron and vitamin C. Can be from food or supplements. Vitamin C effervescent is (y) .
Bacteria in mouth feed on sugar and produces acid.
Therefore it may not be acid reflux per se.
If you snack, you're likely coating your mouth and throat with sugar.
Again, bottled water (non-RO) may help to flush mouth and throat after snacking.
Sugar causing inflammation.

I am taking b12 for mouth ulcer, don't want iron as it might cause constipation.

bottled water and tap water, any research done to show it works?

Don't try, don't know.
Maybe it is not obvious when things get suggested, there could be some background experience?
If you don't want iron, nothing can be discussed further.
You do miss out on beef steak and pork liver.

Your bottled water and tap water question, who will be in the right mind to do the research ?
It's obvious you have not tried. Anyway, refer to post #88.
There are some freebies but not always.

betadine gargle I have been using for the pass 14 days, thks to temasek, hasn't cure my sore throat. Evian abit ex, wonder if there is bulk discount, vitamin c effervescent I can trust, it is back by research to some extend, using for the past 5 days, but on and off still runny nose, today use up a lot of tissue. my is usually start with tonsilitis first, mouth ulcer, then sore throat then runny nose, to stop tonsilitis I am going to increase my vitamin D intake. I am also considering tonsiltectomy. Another guy also tried to sell me alkaline ionizer water over pm, not sure is it scam or what. btw in had already started another thread in this same sub forum, blocked nose on one side.

Perhaps curb your sugar intake.
No matter what you do, if you keep "poisoning" yourself, you won't recover.
Evian is a bit alkaline.
