Soundcard Recommendations?

If you're not switching between speakers and headphones actively then probably just a USB one will do the job.

For my use case I tend to switch between headphones (CSGO/FPS/Discord) and speakers (everything else) quite often. The AE5/SBZ helps to ease the hassle of plugging and unplugging as there is a dedicated headphone jack so you can keep your headphones + mic and speakers plugged in forever. All you need to do is just do a switch via software and maintain the same audio quality from the soundcard.

Since you are only using speakers and Powered speakers at that, you only need a DAC. USB DACs are plenty and i could suggest these

Hi, same me looking around for soundcard or external.

What cables are you using? I didn't want spend too much so I just got the Monster iCable 1000A to connect speakers input to PC. And it made a difference. Try it, cheap and good value

Depends on your motherboard.
ALC892 is consider buay pai liao.
Very unlikely you will hear any improvement with Creative Play 3.

I would consider the play 3 as a "replacement" if your onboard sound gg. It's very similar to most onboard.

Imo, u want the best improvement is to upgrade your speakers. That's the easiest and the most economical way to improve. Dac/amp to me is on a need to basis, if your new speakers require it like you bought a new set of passive speakers. Then yeah bo bian need to buy amp.

Well.. this is weird.. so i decided to just use the onboard Realtek ALC892 as on my Asrock AB350 PRO4 board, for the meantime.. and its connected directly to my Edifier R1700BT..

So i downloaded and installed the latest Realtek drivers [ before was just using the basic drivers onboard ]

And guess what? the sound is reversed.. Left is right, right is left!

i tested with my LG monitor output [ Nvidia drivers ] and also by Bluetooth, and speakers are fine. Its the Realtek Drivers!

For now, i switch the RCA inputs to Speakers PC in - red on left, black on right..

Anyone else experienced this? Is it a common issue with Realtek drivers?

How to rectify? Rollback to older drivers? Uninstall the new ones and just use older driver?

Go to your realtek drivers settings and adjust.
