Any ideas which is better ? SQ or CX ...

If planning to fly SQ, would take a380 ...
is upper deck better ?

Frankly, short haul flights from both these carriers are just as crappy for economy seats. Flew recently on SQ A380 to and back HK. In flight entertainment system buggy, kept stuttering. In addition, they now provide in-ear ear phones instead of headphones. Very poor audio quality. Little legroom and seats arent very comfortable. Same destination with CX last year and the in flight entertainment system was worse.. those antique 4:3 screens and it was flickering with very bad audio. Other language audio leaked into the left channel.


The best experience i had was with BA on a long haul flight to London (premium economy). Top notch widescreen (touch screen) entertainment system. Excellent service with comfortable seats. No complains about the meal served. Have tried the same route with CX and SQ; they dont match up to BA's experience.

Cool! My upcoming trip to HK will also be on upper deck. Managed to grab window seats for the leg to HK, but coming back will be in middle aisle. Nevertheless I heard leg room is still bigger on upper deck and its a lot quieter, so I stick with upper deck despite getting only middle aisle seats.

Never sat on upper deck before. Hope it'll be a good experience.

coz sister flying cx ... then i see got the SQ promo, somemore can fly a380 ...
so think is a good promo ba ...

For a Y in a380, upper deck is better configuration of 2x4x2 and storage bin on window seats while lower deck 3x4x3. Plus quieter as less pax.

It doesnt make much of a diff between sq & cx

Whichever is cheaper or the timing best suit me will be.my option

hmmm... the promo shows $308, then i click in to book,
after i've selected the timings, the fare from $271 becomes $371 .....
izzit the $271 havent include tax and surcharge or what?

Usually for regular airlines, their promo prices would include tax and fuel surcharges liao. Only budget airline will play the fine prints game leh. You chose timings that are not under the promo fare issit?

Took both CX and SQ before. Prefer SQ, haha. Not because it's Singapore brand, but it's slightly more comfy for me. Food is also better.

Prefer SQ selection of shows also. Maybe it suits my taste, haha.

@Joelleyuan: Make sure you don't buy single tickets. Those promotions usually don't apply to one person. It will revert back to the usual pricing if you travel alone. Check the fine print. I once had the same problem and saw the fine print, haha. Cancelled before paying.
