It only opens up when others cancel or rebook their ticket. SQ will not release additional saver space, this was confirmed by inventory control years back when I made my first redemption.
1 week ago, hnd sin biz was not available from 1 jun to 7 jun.
last sunday, i checked and saw those slots became waitlist.

Yep saver does open up but very few. And especially not popular/monopoly routes like CHC, the chances are even lower :(

CHC is 1 of the route i notice default waitlist. but there are certain period in a year where there is an additional flight each day. those period will be easy to redeem. managed to find 4-6 biz savers on those days on the same flight

I've managed to get CHC at T+355 days on J saver with immediate confirmation. Just note that SQ's timezone for 'the next day' is not GMT+8. If you notice any flight 'defaulting' to waitlist, it simply means that saver has been fully taken up. I will make a dummy booking tomorrow to prove my case.

Not necessarily true. Some flights simply do not come with any saver initially. I booked on SQ32 like when they just opened, but with 0 saver availability. Called for chaser and got 4 J savers cleared. Don't think they will clear 4 savers after giving out 1 or 2 already.

Saver is still available, even as of now.

Edit: This is for 11 Mar 2018, or 355 days out from today.

O can call them to chase for wait list? O well. A little late to know that, but doesn't really help my situation. Haha.
Not sure if I still want to clock miles instead of rebates now...

Try for friday or sat flight bah (cuz i only book those flights). Those are the 1 that are more restricted. Last time the flight to seoul that onward to usa also.

My argument here is not about the dates, but rather flights are not defaulted to waitlist, i.e. they are not released at all. There will always be some initial saver availability, be it for 10 seconds or 10 days. Only when these (usually limited quantities) savers are taken up, then it goes into waitlist. I have not missed a single saver redemption, regardless of routes or cabin class provided that I can confirm the travel date 355 days out. The point is moot if you are only able to confirm the dates when it's nearer.

I could find 4 J saver on the flight quoted above, but since you could not confirm your dates 355 days out, I guess you're stuck to waitlisting. In fact, even as of now, there are still 2 J savers available. 2 probably got taken up in the past 4 hours.

30USD for cancellation, or 15USD if you have any kind of status (even Silver)

Convert to Passion point if you have a passion. Else it get expired.
Is not worth to change to ticket as tax plus fuel charges is very high for SQ.

Subject to the same mileage expiry date, so if you cancel 9 months later, and the miles are supposed to expire in 8 months, the miles will be expired and not refunded.

Last day before the "devaluation" or last day before mileage expiry?
