Are SSDs warranty all the same, limited to authorized distros/resellers, or are some brands worldwide international regardless of product country source?

Feeling confused by the 'misleading' e-commerce sellers' FAQ.

Sandisk Ultra 3D 2.5" SATA SSD (5 Years International Warranty)
WD Blue 2.5" SATA SSD (5 Years International Warranty)
Samsung 860 Evo 2.5" SATA SSD (5 Years Qi Love+ Warranty, Our In-House Warranty)
Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVME (5 Years Qi Love+ Warranty, Our In-House Warranty)
Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVME PCIe 4.0 (5 Years Qi Love+ Warranty, Our In-House Warranty)

https://www.seagate.com/sg/en/support/warranty-and-replacements/channel-limited-warranty/
"This limited warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship in Seagate Products purchased through the Seagate Distribution channel. Only a customer who purchases products from a Seagate authorised reseller or distributor may obtain coverage under this limited warranty (Please see our list of local authorised distributors and resellers at wheretobuy.seagate.com). Warranty service is provided only when your product is returned to an authorised return centre in the region where the product was first shipped by Seagate."

Anyone with insight/experience?

Lastly, SSD component is the least volatile (failure rate) among PC parts right? #Generally speaking ... :s11::s11:

Thank You for reading & replies. G'day.

Most SSD Manfc only provide warranty when your product is purchased locally via local distros. Imported sets are not counted

there is only a few brands that even give an international warranty, so just treat it as local warranty only

as for that retailer' that is their in house warranty ( means most likely imported set and there is no warranty provided by the official brand.

depends on your luck, but yes SSDs are unlikely to fail as long as its from a trusted brand.

If non-local,

Samsung - no warranty

Seagate/WD - technically no warranty but talk to the CS, Seagate/WD can be quite helpful

Sandisk - RMA to HK. Quite easy RMA process when I had to return my previous Sandisk Extreme Pro.

Dunno about seagate but WD definitely got international warranty. Just bring to our local service center.

I sent an HP SSD for RMA before. 15$ to send to US via singpost, 15$ from US to SG via forwarder comgateway. Comgateway faster than singpost lol

WD does not have international warranty. WD does accept RMA for non-local purchase but that is as an exception to their warranty policy.

I found out Seagate have international warranty that follows the product wherever it goes. Looks like I'm wrong about WD but I know their customer service top notch so they'll probably take your drive in if you can talk to them about buying from Amazon.sg

May switch to seagate for all future drives if only they up their hardware game.
