Just get a 1TB Intel 660p from amazon. Nothing comes close to the price:performance.

yeah 100MBps write performance after 40GB better avoid

Yes, this is the thing I'm most afraid of! And dunno if warranty cover data recovery or not

Do u rmb what cause it to fail? What r the common reasons why ssd fail?

What did u use to backup?

My current hdd use for 5 years still going

Dunno if ssd can live as long or not

i don't think rma provide data recovery for ssd.

my first 1 is i finish the write cycle.

the second 1 is either improper shutdown or update.

although ssd dont have moving parts....it still subjected to wear and tear over time.... bad blocks.
Unlike in HDDs, there are no physical moving platters in SSDs, so it’s immune from old hard disk issues. However, while the storage component itself isn’t susceptible to mechanical failure, other components are.

SSDs require a capacitor and power supplies, which are vulnerable to malfunctions—especially in the case of a power surge or a power failure. In fact, in the case of a power failure, SSDs have been known to corrupt existing data too, even if the drive itself hasn’t failed completely.

The other possible problem with SSDs is that they have limited read/write cycles, an issue that exists with all kinds of flash memory.

this is why i try to go after those with 5 years warranty with longer writing cycle.

i just clone mx500 to another mx500....as backup

But this is 1 large file, right?

For multiple files, I guess it's fine?

Yes no problem. But the price isn't cheap enough. If you can get a tlc which has 300MBps and double the endurance for the same price, then should go for that

I see.. I don't have a choice. Looking at 2TB as secondary drive to replace my current 2TB HDD.

If not main drive and you dont write much should be ok. The slow speed is only for writes, not read
