Hi,

I like to check how to unlock the SSD to do a low level format?

I tried to run secure format using the plextool but it says that the SSD is locked.

If it's frozen u need parted magic and a thumb drive. Google it.

ssd must put inside freezer then call frozen

try un-plug sata & power cable from the ssd then plug in again.
its should solve the frozen issues

You can also try to put your computer to sleep mode, then switch on the computer. Then run Plextool.

Hang? It didn't hang. I can still boot into windows and use just that i cannot do secure format

Try turning on SATA hotplug for that particular port, secure remove the SSD while you are in Windows and replug in back (both power and data cable).

not sure how to secure remove.. but i tried the safely remove thing and disconnect and reconnect but it doesnt solve the problem..

i guess will have to download parted magic and try to use it to do a secure erase.

the Plextool says "Security frozen lock might be detect on the drive, so please replug your drive to start Secure Format."

I tried replug still same.

bios can secure lock a hdd or ssd, so you'll need to unlock it from bios if it was locked from there...
if it was locked from another computer, you'll need that computer to unlock it..

oo. i took it out of my laptop that i seldom use now.. but in the bios of the laptop, there is like no option to lock/unlock?

have you tried diskpart ? delete the ssd partition ?

nope. haven try.. now i thinking if need to do secure erase or not.

jus now i went to computer management and delete the partitions on the ssd and recreate it. now AS SSD give a 308MB/s write and 490MB/s read...

thought the more proper was is to do a secure erase instead right?

i think the AS SSD result i get is almost the peak performance of this plextor m5pro xtreme 128GB can get?
