Considering to add on a 512GB SSD to current Plextor M5Pro as it is already close to full. The M5Pro will be used as a secondary drive for Win7/Linux.

Shortlisted the

1. M6Pro 512GB since I have good experience with the brand.

2. M6e PCIe SSD 512 GB due to its high performance and PnP without addition cable management.

3. Samsung 850 Pro/Evo 500GB due to positive online reviews.

Usage is for Win8.1, photoshop, video editing at times and gaming on the new drive. The general consideration is I'm incline towards performance.

Any opinions on these SSDs or other recommendation?

Trying to decide between Crucial MX200 and Samsung 850 Evo. Going for the 1TB version. Any comments on these two?

Samsung drives are the fastest I think.

By the way, how's the crucial bx100? 512gb version going for just 279 at pc themes...

You take the fastest sata ssd now. How many seconds have you saved compared to mainstream models?

And your point is that it's not worth it to buy a top-end SSD?

The price to performance is not worth paying top money for those high end SSD, you can't really feel the difference based on real world usage. You'll only see the performance difference in various SSD while running benchmark software but this ain't what you're going to use the SSD for right?

Just get a reliable mainstream brand which most bros recommend here and you should be fine.

Cool, makes sense.

So based on this, would it be better to get a BX100 instead of an MX200? Since I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Mx100 would b a better choice as to bx100. Price wise, mx100 aint far..

Does nt mean can get the cheapest.

Both the Crucial BX100 and MX200 are relatively new products in the market (launched last month?) and there aren't too many user reviews yet but the general consensus on HWC based on build recommendations would be Crucial MX100 SSD. You might want to wait awhile more for the senior bros here to provide their views and recommendations.

Sometimes the classified section is worth a look. I snagged a Intel 730 480GB for $270 last month
