Guys in short is this fixed deposit? Have a sum of money from my expired fixed deposit from uob. The rate last year was 1.6%, this year only 1.25%. Thinking to open an account with scb, is it worth it?

Sent from your phone using GAGT

This is not the same as FD. There is no lockup of money. You can choose to withdraw any time you like. Interests are earned on daily basis.

Transfer from own esaver to the other own esaver straight can also earn bonus interest...? that really can save quite a bit of manual xfer work.

I have two E$aver Accounts, the Second one was opened via online long time ago.
Xfer between two accounts directly with no problem on Interest earned.

This? https://www.sc.com/sg/save/saving-esaver.html

Can someone help explain some things to me:

"with no lock-in period when you bring in incremental fresh funds* (compared to September 2016‘s average daily balance)"

How does it work for:
a) a new customer, do I have to top up every month?
b) existing customer, do I top up? and how much, how often?

"Bonus Interest Rate on eligible Incremental Balance"

So this amount of interest only applies to fresh funds I put in (how long is the fund considered "fresh"/"incremental"?). Until 30th Nov, which means 2 months?

no lock in period simply means no tie-up like how FD lock you for 3 months/ 1 year/2 year etc/

a) no need, can just dump in your whole amount for new account
b) your top up must be more than what you have during sept.
say sept you have 100k inside, you got the interest liao, then want take out and put back in. your 100k will be earning the prevailing interest while the amount exceed 100k will earn the bonus interest.

"Bonus Interest Rate on eligible Incremental Balance" means the exceeding amount will earn the bonus interest rate.

incremental means increase on your previous amount.
if you're new account, just dump in can liao, wait 2 months for interest, no need worry so much

hope you understand. haha

I doubt it works by transferring from one esaver to another using internal transfer right? The tnc states fresh funds. Hard to justify it is with this blatant transfer

Someone posted to transfer fund to other bank first then FAST back to your 2nd eSaver account.

So it will count fresh fund ?

anyone experienced this issue or I did anything wrong? the month before I opened a new e saver and transferred over (received bonus). Last month I transferred back to original account, but there wasn't any bonus received when I just checked. :s11:

u need to be more clearer, don't understand what you mean.

Esaver lasts 2 months everytime, the last one was August and September, and both months compare it to the ADB for the month of July. So say if you opened a new account in August, your July ADB would be $0, and in August you would get the bonus interest. In September, you don't have to do anything at all as it still compares it to July.

Until this round, which is supposedly October and November, you would either have to transfer to a new eSaver account or to transfer everything out to another account for 2 months, so that in December and January, you will have a lower ADB to compare to again.
