If you have done it and it is possible, why don’t you just keep it to yourself? Sometimes it doesn’t help if you share share then ppl ask you to show picture all this and then the bank finds out. Once the bank stops it, you and many of those, including myself who have been doing it will lose the higher interest.
For those who really wants to know whether it works, just try on your own. For trial, you can try with small amount if you are afraid that the interest of your big sum doesn’t earn the high interest. On the same note, dun sabo and ask the bank and bao toh others.

u think I care.. now got so many other options to park our money, they want to fix this loophole then fix lor

the reason why I shared was because someone else shared in the past and I tried it and it worked, if not I wouldn't have known about it if everyone else's thinking was as selfish as yours

plus even if they fix it, there are still many other ways around this, such as moving to 3rd party proxy bank and back and so on, it just more troublesome. Unless they want to fix the 3rd party proxy bank moving too.. then ppl will just park their money somewhere else and they lose customers.

Ya. You are very resourceful.
Don’t you know that once they start to look into it, they will start to put in many terms and condition. There is no such thing as 3rd party proxy bank coz they can peg your ADB and disregard whether you move to many banks before you move the fund back.
Just look at how the banks classify the cc spendings. Last time pay bills or move to brokerage and fund houses all considered. Earn rebates till the capped. Now no longer possible.

its not about whether they will look into it, but these kind of promotions won't last forever anyway either, eventually they will have to stop it or change it to something else

but maybank is FD

Esaver able to withdraw anytime, no longer need to recycle every 2 months. and if during the promotion period bonus interest offered to other customers is higher, interest earn will be based on this higher rate

Thanks for the info.

Maybank is offering 1.65% for 50k and above for 12 mths.

Did u get the invite from standchart? If yes, just park it there for the next 12 months.

I cited Maybank one year FD of 1.65% in response to mdax23 who mentioned 12 months with standchart's invitation.

Looks like they are discontinuing the security token and replacing everything with the app instead. Problem is that the app requires Android 5 and my phone can only be updated to 5 with unofficial roms...
Don't know why SCB Mobile App on my phone shows android logo instead of SCB logo??
Anyone knows?

In case you haven't figured it out yet, the SCB mobile app was developed by idiots.
Seriously, they can't handle the android back button properly.

Anyone else receive the sms about special interest rate for selected customer? Basically a 1.45% which is nothing special compared to Esaver acct itself. But for me, if I understood correctly, the attraction is that I can maintain the 1.45% for up to 12 months without the need to bounce the money around between my Wife acct and my personal esaver acct. less hassle.

Anyone else got this sms? I understood the tnc correct?

what u said is correct. Also, if scb is to offer higher than 1.45% for regular esaver during this 12mth period, the higher interest rate will be applicable, ie u are not stucked with 1.45% throughout the 12mths...

scb is not new in offering this "special esaver" to selected customers. Back in late 2015 or Jan 2016, they offer 1.68% for 12mth period.

u can search for those posts in this esaver thread.

Esaver promo at 1.35% from 1 Jun to 31 Jul.

Early Jul jumped ship from SCB to Maybank offering 1.45% from 1 Jul to 31 Dec.

Few days later, transferred from Maybank to CIMB's FD at 1.65% for 6 months (1.80% if go for 12 mths FD) :s13:

Then today received SCB's letter for valued esaver account holder offering 1.45% from 1 Jul to 30 Jun 2019 in trying to outdo Maybank?

Real computerised signature letter or cardboard type flyer like the usual esavers one?
