I asked my RM why as a PB customer i never ever receive such invitations he said it’s not determined by him and he cannot influence things. Period.
now PB relationship is commoditized, go any lounge and you see people there getting free drinks and reading newspapers, some even camp for half a day. PB today is like mass banking of past.

WOW Thanks for this reminder/pointer that EVERY MONTH'S LAST DAY BALANCE must be GREATER THAN 30th June DAY END BALANCE.

I almost didn't notice this as it had always been ADB against a comparison date ONLY from my memory.

Although my 30th June end of day balance is $1, I think this is still a very valuable lesson that we need to always read the TNCs properly again, do not assume you know the promo very well even though it is your 10th time participating as they could have inserted one additional clause to throw you off your footing.
Looks like SC is trying to catch you once and then they will make back all the interest they paid you... :(

Anyone has encountered this before?

My SCB eSaver account was temporarily locked and the app show me to call the bank. When I called SCB, they said it was the bank's internal due diligence process and that the account will be locked for up to 60 days!!! The only way to have it open earlier is to file a police report which to me was ridiculous. It has been locked for the past 2 weeks but luckily I did not transfer any funds into it.

What's the issue? Did you receive funds from third party that may have been contaminated with scam funds?

Yes, I experienced account lock/suspension in June 2023 for my eSaver (tagged priority private).

My "crime" - I used Orchard Hotel public wifi to do a $700 PAYNOW transfer to my own mobile number. This mobile number was PAYNOW registered to a HSBC account, and is also in SCB system as my mobile number.

I called SCB CSO and the CSO asked me what was the internet provider and if there was a VPN. I told the CSO I don't have the information as I do not know who was Orchard Hotel internet provider and if Orchard Hotel used a VPN. I was deemed to have failed the verification questions and I was told that my account will be locked for 2 days.

I proceeded to f the CSO upside down and my account was unlocked 4 hours later.

Don't use SCB for your everyday banking. App is buggy as hell and idiots run the bank.

Wow! Locked up to 60 days and need a police report? What's the reason to log to police? Saying SCB locked your account without any reason? If you sure nothing abnormal then should that be reported to MAS rather than Police?

When I set a high limit first time few days ago the logon also disabled by SCB, have to call them to release and the officer says auto lock-up due to suspicious activity which I have added a new payee account and set a higher withdrawal limit. I think it was locked up due to suspicious scam activity.

Well this is ridiculous for me. Imagine you have your life savings in SCB and they did this without explanation.

Was about to move $200k into SCB and this happens. They just lost a customer.

Do you have any previous large transfers in and out before it was zero? Could it be due to past transactions and the bank wanted to verify them?

Once again the magic keyword called diversification come into play again. Bank accounts also need diversify lor. But sometimes we want their good promo so we dump a lot in to get the good interest but this come at such risk. That is why for me personally even if the promo is very good I never all in. Be it bank accounts or any investment instruments even like SSB, T-bill.

Rule of thumb for me is diversify diversify diversify. Then never all in.

actually i feel given the myriad of scams & hacks these days, such feature is actually a good one to detect & prevent unusual / suspicious transactions especially if unauthorized.
of cos not trigger-happy la, but unusual new ip login with relatively big transaction, country, new recipent etc is appropriate imo, unless whitelisted

I think the same way as well. My only complain is the SCB cso that calls you for verification, the accent super thick and strong. And they all seem to be from the same place..

Mine was suspended & after call to CSO, says by police, to unblock need to make police report & head to branch. Went to branch & then the counter service says my account can never be unblocked regardless of anything, say am blacklisted forever in their records. Bloody hell...phone CSO & branch CSO sing different songs, waste my time. Luckily my account has zero balance, told branch officer to close it, what is the point of suspend it & ask me to contact them? Bank should have Just close it & send me an official letter that bank is terminating their service to me.
Really make customer run on wild goose chase for nothing.

Do u have the number they use for calling customers? Sometimes I have missed calls and I don't call back.
And how do I verify they are really calling from SCB ?
