No. He received the invitation for 3.8%. Since his end of day balance is 0 for 30th Nov, and he dumped $200k during Dec, he will meet the requirement for the 3.8% till April 2024 (April included).
yes. there are 2 invited promos recently. one in Nov (3.7%) and one in Dec (3.8%).

Yes yes. I din say he won’t get. However, the total interest is paid out in a way that he will get 3.6% at the end of the month of Dec 23 and Jan 24 and the remaining 0.2% on the 20ish of the subsequent month.

Huh no. For the 3.8% promo, the combination is 0.05% account base interest + 3.75% bonus interest to be paid on the 20th of the following month. Its in the T&C leh.

If one is eligible for the public incremental promo, one will get the promotional interest on the last day of the month and the balance paid on the 20th of the following month. Let’s see since 31st Dec is just tmr. Tnc is assuming that one is not eligible for the public promotional incremental balance.

the base interest (0.05%) is always paid on the last day of the month. since 31st of Dec is a Sunday, most likely it'll be paid out today... we'll see.

likewise, the current eSaver public promo is 3.6% and the outstanding 3.55% will also likely be paid out by 31st of Dec or today... although tnc will say it's by 7th working day.

it's only those who're on the invitational 3.7% or 3.8% that they will get the remaining "balance interest yet to be paid" by the 20th of the month.

FACE PALM. That's what I've been describing isn't it - the 3.8% promo. I never said anything about the public promotion one.

I mentioned since he is eligible for 3.6% public promo, he will get 3.6% at the end of the month and remaining 0.2% at the following month 20th. (Total still 3.8%). My point is the interest amount paid out on the end of the month and by 20th of the following months are different but add up still same at 3.8%. Then u “no huh” and quoted the tnc (0.05% + 3.75%). Now I m confused about ur stand.

maumu described it best and I quoted and put it here. Hopefully it is clearer:

“there are basically three tranches of interest payment:
- last day of month 0.05%
- last day of month for bonus interest based on public promotion (on incremental balance) - although on paper it can be by 7th working day of next month...
- by 20th of next month for any additional (yet to pay) bonus interest based on invitation promotion (on whole balance)”

both of you are correct, in a sense. My take as below

As public rate is 3.6% for Dec-Jan period, THOSE invited with 3.8% for up to end Apr 2024 and qualify with the 100k increment on 31Dec over 30Nov value should get

- 3.6% end Dec and end Jan, with bonus difference 0.2% payout on 20th Jan and 20th Feb
- 0.05% end Feb to end Apr, with invited bonus difference 3.75% payout on 20th Mar to May 2024 ( as thereotically no longer qualify for any public tranche from mar to May )

Base interest is 0.05%. Not 0.5%.

1) Am I correct to say base interest of 0.05% is for the entire balance while the bonus interests of 3.55% is computed for incremental balance only?

2) What if I’m also on the 3.8% invitation, will the bonus interests be computed based on the full balance instead? If so, how will this additional bonus interests be computed? Should the additional bonus interests be based on 0.2% or 3.8% for the full balance to be receive by 20th of next month.

Can you confirm the 3.6% end Dec and end Jan (for those with 3.8% invite) is for full balance and not incremental balance cause there will be a difference in amount.

1) BI is for incremental balance only.
2) according to tnc, should be full ADB. Ultimately, all the interests u received on the 31st Dec and by 20th Jan should add up to 3.8% of ur Dec ADB.

these few months I keep getting a few cents off in my calculations of the BI. but yeah the public promo BI is in already posted 30 Dec

so for those who're on public promo for Dec you'll already received the full 0.05% base interest and 3.55% public promo bonus interest yesterday.

those on invitational 3.6% / 3.7% / 3.8% will get the 'remaining' unpaid invitational bonus interest by 20th Jan.
