because it’s confusing some say move out some say keep inside to earn bonus interest even my banker say don’t move out
read the T&C again... never say must keep inside. What other pple are saying is that if you move out, then you don't get bonus interest for Nov mah.

I signed up for the promotion for it's for period of Oct to Dec. Nov I have better place to park so just withdraw out first.

u qualify but u still need to have money inside to earn the interest ma.

means if ur account $0 now then u top up $100k, then withdraw the next day. Your account is $0. so u qualify but u earning interest on $0.

A related issue using esaver for this promo or previous promos. How you ensure the money is safe? Scb has money lock but need to go their branch and their branches quite limited.

This safety issue applies to all banks. Not pertaining to Standchart alone.

Even biscuits tin may not be safe. Read articles about cash being eaten away by insects.

We can only play our part by making sure we don't download apk from dubious links, and to enrich ourselves to be scam proof as much as possible. The rest leave it to God.

Yes but different banks have different mechanism to deal with it. Best is use money lock which by now almost all banks should be offering. However, some banks offer unlocking by atm. Scb doesn't. Others such as ocbc has a 12 hour cooling period when new payment recipients are added.

Many of us here often merry go round with our funds chasing for higher interest. To lock it is a no no for many of us I suppose 😅

Hello, even if scb offers unlocking via ATM, where you can find a scb ATM is also usually where the physical location of scb is liao loh.
In all honesty, if you really so kiasee, then just buy a cheap phone with no sim card, install your scb app that only. Make sure you have no communication apps like telegram and Whatsapp on that phone. Today is 11/11, alot of phones on discount, go buy one with the big amount of interest you are collecting from that big sum of money you are protecting.

another way is to use the spare phone as a separate OTP token away from any banking app installed on your primary phone

then don't take part in the promo. not worth losing your sleep over that extra 0.2-0.3% interest.
or just dont put too much money in scb for the promo.

e.g. for me even though sometimes banks last time like RHB , ICBC , BOC etc give higher interest. I don't feel comfortable with them even though they are safe so I would rather forgo that bit of extra interest.

BOC even with hardware token, if transfer large sum of money, it will require a second authentication through OTP to get through.

My account got locked recently when I transfer big sum of money out.

They tried to call me a few times to verify but I did not pick up call. So they lock my account.

Dear customer, we noticed multiple or large outflow of funds made via digital services with your BOC account. The Bank has attempted to contact you regarding these transactions but we were unable to reach you. As we are unable to verify these transactions, the Bank will temporarily deactivate all services (including electronic banking services and GIRO services) linked to your account as a safeguard. If the transaction was made from a joint-account, please kindly inform your joint-account holder. Please contact BOC hotline or head down to any of our branches for assistance to reactivate your account.

My only complaint about BOC is the staff handling banking calls are not fluent in english (don't have this issue for credit card). Have difficulty understanding them. And they are not able to unlock but have to refer to team. End up have to go to branch which could unlock on the spot.

How do we get to speak to CSO? Called the hotline & all the options do not have one that will connect me to a CSO unless I select the SCAM option. Anyone knows? Even chat cannot get to a CSO to chat.
