I got the esaver bonus interest as follows :-
"BONUS INTEREST PAYMENT $xxx.xx"

Is this the normal promo or the marathon promo? I remember participating in the marathon promo one.

Nornal promo. Marathon promo interest will show it as marathon. Did you sign up and qualify for it with the 100k incemental balance requirement?

I participated and transferred 200k on Oct 31st, but the system marked it as Nov 1st due to the Deepavali holiday. So I checked with CSO and said I'm qualified for the marathon. But I'm still in doubt so I test the water first and it turns out to be the normal promo

Nope you likely would not have qualified. It's by value date, and 31st was a public holiday. They may manually calculate for you and give you the interest later, but unlikely you'll get the system calculated interest like the rest.

Yup, as I am in doubt about the system, I transferred everything out on Dec 1st, unless I want to go after the CSO, as the chat log stated I'm qualified.

If you qualified recently they also send an in app notification to notify you of the rate you're enjoying. If didn't get means likely not qualified based on the system.

Based on the tnc, you should qualify for the marathon as you transferred the money into the account on Oct 31 as per tnc.

Per tnc, you will not get interest for Oct for this amount into ADB only, ie interest will be counted in Nov as it is valued for interest computation on Nov 1.

If I were you, I will "complain" based on these tnc which you complied. Get back your deserved interest for Oct and Nov! Fight for it!

I did not participate in the marathons, but this should be the correct interpretation. If not, SCB had misled the Public by using Oct 31 as the criteria! Tell SCB, if you dun qualify, their tnc should state Oct 30th instead of Oct 31st!

(their system might not be able to handle it properly due to complicated tnc on mthend falling on a holiday! :ROFLMAO:, I am system trained in thinking, I suspect so cos it is not so simple to program to teach the computer to do it correctly!)

I always do my own computation of interest. Did you try to compute and check to confirm interest credited is correct? Marathon is 3.3 and 3.35, what is public promo? Dec will be "material" difference!

Now cannot, when you sign up via the app or at the branch, the system will block you. You can try to create a joint account, but the maximum number of accounts you are allowed to have is 2 (one single name, one joint name).
Since when did SCB limit the number of joint accounts one can have? Where is the tnc?

This is specific to esaver, and this likely is "subject to discretion". You could try to open multiple esaver and see if it works, I've tried and it was rejected
I own more than 1 in the past, but closed it because interest was too low. Next time I pass by SCB branch, I will ask them before I bring my sibling along if I need one more!

I guess you did not give a good answer when they ask you why you need it!:ROFLMAO:

Nope they actually tried to do it for me and did not turn me away, but the system do not allow opening of the account, and no way to overwrite the rejection.

So it is not true, it only applies to you since no reason is given! :ROFLMAO:
