I have a joint account. As the tnc said higher interest only award to account where main acc holder is the one holding the wealth product. I ask if I'm the main but she can't reveal over the phone. This one need to personally visit branch to find out. In case anyone same as me forgot who is the main account holder.
Call again and hopefully the next CSO can tell you.

hmm... to buy unit trust, i have to open a Bonus$saver account? (trying to fulfil the wealth holding criteria)

just to reaffirm the above qns,
so to qualify the wealth holding criteria need to open Bonus$saver account?
as i tried playing around thru the investment tab eventually led me to Unit Trust Account Opening / Standard Chartered Online Mutual Fund opening, and stating "currencies for which Bonus$aver account will be created"

Check your estatement. I believe the first name in your statement is the main account holder.

You guys are much better than their cs 😂 I also puzzled why can't reveal over the phone. I actually ask why so and the reply i gotten is this is one of their security check question so i am suppose to know. If i don't i need go physical bank to find out.

@Squaredot Spot on. The main account holder name will appear as the first name on the bank statement.
@peppermint7 CSO support is usually "hit or miss". Phone CSO can't provide the answer but chat CSO gave the answer. :ROFLMAO:

The BANKS outsource the hotline service overseas,

if I'm not wrong these centers are not serving just One particular bank, so they hv to always put us on hold to check over the simplest stuff 😆🙄

Need to wait few days before you can start trade. I also set up a day ago and called up asking why can't seems to trade. Cs says need to wait for email or sms to notify trading account opened then can trade. We can see various currency settlement account means it is successfully applied but formal trading need like 5 days she said
Finally my trade account is open. Can start to trade on Monday.

I actually came all the way down to vivo branch today to ask about why open unit trust lead to bonus saver acc created? As i get confused by the multi currency it ask me select and also talk about bonus saver which i only want simple unit trust to be open. But cs send me to meet a RM who can't answer my question except saying he can help me open unit trust acc on the spot if i invest thru him a unit trust there and then. Of course i don't want. I say i want to ownself slowly read and decide what to buy. He says in this case any questions have to call the hotline and they'll direct me to team in charge of unit trust. So i think I'll just leave it as i manage to get my equity acc open today. I'll just buy some shares will do. Forget about the UT. Lazy to call in and round about.

Anyone has suggestion how to hit spending $1000 criteria, other than spending? Can pay other credit card bills?

For eSaver account, Credit Card spending is not a criteria to earn more interest, it is wealthy holding, and for SCB enable trading stock, need to open trading account, no need to open bonus saver account.

Most of the a/cs can be open via online, no need to visit branch. UT & shares can all be transacted online too.

No harm in creating a new BonusSaver a/c - various promotions going on currently.

You might want to go to the Bonus Saver thread for discussions:

I think they go link UT to Bonus saver. When i try to open UT acc it'll lead to fill up a 6 pages form which Bonus Saver is included. Not exactly sure how to open UT alone without RM help.

Thanks for the links. Will go thru them later :)

Those ‘forms’ you mention could be various assessment questionnaire & these are necessary steps for banks because UT & equities fall under Investment. It is no risk to deposit money in eSaver a/c or Bonus Saver a/c to earn interest, but you will be subject to additional risk when investing in UT or Equities.

Strangely I open Equities without issue. But when come to UT application they combine Bonus Saver into it thus the confusion for me.

HSBC has it easier. I open Equities and UT one shot simple and fast. But I got lost in the maze at StandardChart 😅.
I called up but cs told me she doesn't know and ask me to check with branch cos branch surely have ppl able to assist me.

But when I go branch they ask me call up hotline cos branch RM can only help me to buy UT On the spot. Questions pertaining to UT opening got to call up hotline to ask for UT team to assist..

Anyway, I will keep to Equities since today my Equities acc is successfully opened. So long i can buy something for that little bit more interest then all is well. :)

I will just note down my experience for those who are opening the unit trust account online. I managed to open the unit trust account online last week. For those who is applying the unit trust online, I don't select the bonus saver option for the foreign currency but just link to my esavers account. The account will be opened but you can't trade until you complete the investment profile. Initially when i try to click on the button to create my investment profile but it keep giving error and asked me to go to the branch. Tried clicking on this button a few days same issue. Eventually after like 5 days, I tried to play around with buying of unit trust to get myself familiar, and along the steps, it prompted me the investment profile setup. So now this investment profile setup is also done. But I don't find any "safe" unit trust in scb to invest for the additional interest.

RM at branch says he can help me open on the spot but i must buy something that he recommends. 😅
I guess i will not go through the trouble as i already have moomoo tiger FSMone and also the recently opened HSBC trading account to buy if i want. Just wish SC could keep it simple. I have opened all these other accounts without issue within a day. SC is an eye opener. At some point it even ask me to upload passport which i find it too over as all the others never even ask for that.

Yes you are right. 1st time come across such trouble opening equity, bonus saver and esaver accts. Bank accts open at branch shd b instant, nvr thot need wait for days.. equity acct maybe I will give up opening if still unsuccessful after try again next week as have alrdy other trading accts. First few times called hotline was v frustrating unable to get to speak anyone as I think it is set up to deter ppl from calling again. Only after Google see Facebook comments then I find 'correct method', unlike other banks hotline which is much easier to navigate
