For commercial and industries will have a difference such as autonomous vehicle, remote surgery etc.

To end user, the difference in user experience will not be significant.
In fact, some telco in lion city has very Low 4G speed even for 4G still tot day although the speed is also more than enough for any end users still given the things they do on their mobile devices.

M1 and TPG both have low 4G speed compared to Singtel and StarHub.

When make phone call will signal falls back to LTE?

If you have VoLTE, then yes, use VoLTE. If not, fallback to 3G. NSA don't support phone calls. Your phone might still show 5G during VoLTE call due to phone config though.

So the current 5G network is only NSA, so the main benefits may only be faster speed for consumers. Any one (Starhub/M1 user) got the speedtest data to share?

NSA network is not shared. M1 users don't get access to SH NSA network.

Yes orange telco has very low speed on 4G. When I was on MR or CL which are under orange telco, I can hardly see speed above 30Mbps.

Red and green have no problem getting high speed most of the time.

TPG has high speed actually if it is within good coverage.

I understand that, both M1 and Starhub have their own NSA network (Singtel and TPG will have theirs too in the future) and they are not shared.

And Starhub is the first to announce the arrival of 5G services and roll out 5G supported plans for that. But as reported here, M1 users also have 5G access already. That is why I am asking for SpeedTest data from both M1 and Starhub users.

Starhub should concentrate on fixing their problems with 4g before going to 5g. They have poor signal strength and lots of drops in connection. Starhubs's other services are questionable as well, but that's for another discussion. They may be the first to bring out 5g, but I doubt they will be the first to have full coverage. They always fall behind somehow.

To all telco in sg 4g is outdated and they Will not invest money on 4g on improve 4g coverage and speed.

But for a start 5g might need to ride on 4g. Maybe along with 5g deployment we might get a little 4g enhancements.

Just like 4g roll out some 4g services need to ride on 3g.

anyone tested 5G on their mobile already?

I got disappointing result.

On the same mobile, Singtel LTE seems to be on par/or better than Starhub 5G.

based on HWZ 5G test, Starhub 5G is still lacking behing Singtel 5G one. This is probably due to the 2.1 Ghz vs 3.5 Ghz spectrum

This kind of speed is not even enough to be qualified for a full 4G speed. Haha.

I do not really look forward to 5G, as using Dual Sim phone cut the USABLE band from 2 to 1 (eg 200mbps to 100mbps download) which is still good and very usable.

With 4G+ reaching 370mbps on Singtel, 240mbps+ on M1, 5G isn't really a need for now.

5G you see now is Non Standalone network, which they are upgrading 4G hardwares to take 5G. Hence, you get 5G with 4G speed.

5G standalone network will take at least 2 years to be up. 2022 we then will start seeing stable 5G

StarHub will begin issuing brand-new 5G SIM cards to customers imminently. From mid-June 2021 as an introductory offer, re-contracting and new Mobile+ and Biz+ customers will receive StarHub’s 5G SIM cards free-of-charge (Usual price: $37.45). These 5G SIM cards will automatically be boosted to StarHub 5G SA when the service launches.

StarHub will reach out to customers progressively in the coming weeks with information on how to switch out their current SIM cards.

Still waiting for StarHub to allow 5G as a VAS add on. I am waiting to pay abit more to enable 5G on my 4G SIM ONLY plan. 🤣
