Giga doesn’t support volte.

Just to confirm if below is true when switching from gomo to giga:
Get giga sim card.
If mobile has dual sim, put giga sim card in & activate giga temp number.
But don't throw away gomo sim card. Keep inside mobile.
So mobile now has 2 lines - gomo & giga temp number?
Keep using gomo line until giga port over (does not matter take how long .
When giga ported over, can discard gomo sim card.

In the meantime pls use the temporary giga number to register whatever new user benefits u can get, e.g. Foodpanda shopee etc

I got my giga temp number on 27 nov Friday. My gomo number was deactivated. Giga only ported my old number on 1 dec.so maybe don't switch on a Friday but prepare for 3 to 4 days without your old number.

There is no such thing as 3 to 4 days without your old number. The old humber is still with the old telco sim card. Only change the sim card to the new one once notified that the porting is completed.

I've ported twice and there's no prolong downtime for the number. It's done overnight. It's possible that there is a 1-2 hour outage for the transfer but not in terms of days.

Your case might be a one-off situation.

anyway, i am porting out to gomo to try for 6 months..not a data hungry person so see if reception is better with gomo...simcard arriving tomorrow

No..

Those with VoLTE (Singtel, Starhub, M1, Circle Life.. maybe got more) use 4G for voice too so you can browse while on call

Those without VoLTE will drop to 3G while on call, in giga's case their 3G no data for some reason

His is not the one-off situation. He did not keep his old sim card in the phone until notified that the porting is done. Of course that would mean he ownself wasn't able to receive the services tagged to his number lah. What did he expect anyway?

Can also just activate the sim card using the app or website, no need to put in the sim card first.

10GB is good, especially for those who had just started the service, cos straight away can have excess data to use and rollover most of the unused quota for the next month.

Cos normally for the first month there is 0 rollover.

Not about volte. If you are using dual SIM phone, you can set which SIM to use data which SIM for voice.

If you got a second SIM that you are using Data, set it to use data from that sim only. Then voice calls will be on your giga SIM.
