They're basically a wholly owned subsidiary, not a different company(ie. OEM) using Starhub's network.

You are “roaming” and connecting to overseas networks but data and voice are disallowed on their networks as there is no agreement with giga to provide them. SMSes can still flow while barring voice and data services, most telcos allow sms delivery regardless for roaming subscribers on their network.

Just to share, International Roaming Voice & SMS is activated for my Zero1 50u plan as shown in the mobile app.

No regrets changing to giga!, used to get no signal on m1 at my office or at best 3G, now it’s full 4G for giga

Cannot confirm whether Zero1 Starter supports roaming.
But other unlimited plans seems to support.

From my understanding these are the follow can and can't

Can
- Call overseas from SG if purchased IDD pack
- Can receive SMS when you are overseas (OTP etc.)
Can't
- Call when you are overseas roaming. Does not matter if purchased IDD pack
- Send/ Reply SMS when overseas roaming

Anyone do please correct me if I am incorrect.

Giga SMS fail to work yesterday (23 Mar) again. Just received a series of bank alerts for transactions made yesterday.

Second time I noticed. First time was on 7 Mar. Not sure if there are more in between as I don't do financial transactions everyday.

If this continues I will have to port out of Giga to Vivifi. With so many scams going on nowadays, it is important to receive bank alerts timely.

I have been getting OTP SMSes timely with little delay, from services ranging from banking like POSB/UOB and taxi apps like CDG booking app, etc.

BOC, HSBC and Std Chartered bank. CDP too.
