submitted port in request on 1/7 Friday..... no acknowledgement received and number is still not ported....

normal?
What time was the request submitted? The porting office does not work weekends, so you might expect an acknowledgement tomorrow, particularly if you submitted the request after office hours.

hope someone can help, i was on personal singtel plan and decided to terminate 6mths early with Singtel and pay the $300+ penalties..in this case if i download giga and apply for SIM, will they port in my old number immediately even though its on contract and i just pay singtel the fees?

personally it make more sense to break and go on GIga since the difference is $80+ monthly, save more in long run

U sure u are paying less for terminating your contract? Even if u terminate your contract, u are supposed to pay the monthly subscription up to the contract original end date plus a punitive amount, which the total is already calculated for u.

It is better to stick to the contract and let it complete before porting out.

Yes, with current handset contracts, any early termination with no proper reason will incur 1-to-1 cost for the main subscription and the VASes that's still on contract.

If you're on any discounts, the discounts will NOT apply and you've to pay the full price too.

So like what @Kiwi8 said, you're better off staying in your current contract and port out after it ended.

Plus, if you really really want to port to Giga with whatever promo right now (afaik most promos now basically is the rehash of the previous promos), you can always sign up Giga separately and port in after your SingTel contract ends.

There's no port in only promotion it seems, unless my source is wrong?

Thanks mine is corporate convert to personal, so the penalties are lower than B2C. I will definitely save more if i pay the early termination charges and i be free to port. I am attracted to the $10 10GB giga promo now..

No need to so early port in. Judging by the trend, the $10 10gb plan will most likely be like the $18 pop up plan, and be available once per month, so u can just slowly wait for your Singtel contract to finish before porting away.

They do it so often that it defeats the point of pushing customers to rush and sign up.

I've seen that Giga will frequently disconnect data for 5 to 10 seconds even though there's reception. As if something is in the background restarting some process.

After seeing it happen 4 times in the day (at different parts of Singapore), i'm going to go back to Circles.life.

That sounds a lot like M1 honestly, but if CL works for you then by all means, it’s much cheaper too!

CL is worth it only if you have CIS (or referral) code.
Now signup with their website promo code still more expensive than most other operators.
