Just wondering if the giga connection is good compared to Gomo and other sim no contract ? thinking of porting from starhub to Giga .

Technically giga is from starhub, so its the same connection I think

been using giga for the past 10 months just because it's the cheapest $10 deal last time. Connectivity is worse than SingTel for sure, such as some basement carparks, hate it when I need google maps directions and then the retarded connectivity and at some ulu areas like Punggol northshore where the connectivity has been spotty. giga has been improving but since nowadays there's virtual telcos using SingTel network sub $10, I'm jumping ship.

It depend on individual due to area. Moi prefer giga, changed to vivifi which is under singtel and east west line a lot stops no data during peak. From Chinese garden no / slow data till buona vista, then after redhill when going into the tunnel no data again till raffles.

Previously no issue with giga though, can stream netflix all the way

I using heya now, for $10 or so i get 250gb data every month refresh, 1gb roaming, some 800 mins call time due to rollover and it is using singtel network. Sometimes if i buy top up from shopee i can get it around $9 or so. The value is so insanely good that i have no plan to return to giga for now. Giga need a $10 plan with at least 100gb data and free roaming to compete with the rest.

Does giga do throttling? Eg those 180gb plans with bonus data, do they limit your speed? And if you buy 5G boost, will all your data and bonus data becomes 5G also?

QCI is not throttling, although to the user it feels like the same.

So officially, no they do not throttle. But all our operators network manage using QCI. A customer's $10 plan should not be having the same data priority as another customer paying $205/mo. That's unfair to the higher paying customer.

So the solution is for majority to be paying cheap mnvo $10 plan. If every on cheap plan, then everyone get fast speed.

Will never happen la. There are plenty of businessmen and folks with generous phone allowances, so they will just continue to sign better plans. Also, there are people who will rather pay the telco over 24 months for their phones, rather than pay upfront. This is especially true for those using premium tier phones like iPhone Pro, Galaxy Z/S.

Good chance our ministers and the important business people are also on higher priority plans, so to them they will never feel any slowdown even in the midst of Congestion. Just look at NDP - so many taking photos (and probably sharing with their friends or online), while I've been there and at times not able to connect smoothly to Instagram while on a SIM-only plan.

Sibey jialat, seems like indoors like supermarket fairprice also may drop until cannot make voice call and WhatsApp call... It wasn't like this at least maybe two months ago. Too many ported in to giga ah?
