Don't happy so fast.
Giga turned off VoLTE since Thursday or Friday.
I used to see 2 VoLTE on my phone, now only but since last week, someone turned it off.
Walao.. or just telco having issues?
Both my M1 & Zym (Singtel) having issues today.

When no signal, both gone together. At best, M1 on 3G, or Zym remain no signal.

How to transfer transfer my giga line to my father?
Have to port out to other MVNO, change ownership, then port back. See below :

The only MVNO doing it for free are Circles and MyRepublic. Giga do not support changing of line ownership.

In my case, I transferred the ownership of a line under my father's name to me, by porting out to MyRepublic. After that I ported to Giga cos I did not like MyRepublic imposing a $100 deposit on my account.

Sign up CMLink, get a new number

After you receive your new SIM card from CMLink, initiate port in with change of ownership.

The message I quoted was posted in Dec 2020.
Just checked and MyRep seemed to have change their policy :

I thinks over the years, they had gone the way of those MNO.... many type of fees :

I think giga! throttle data speed after certain amount of data per day. I was using their 4g to download some game, after 5gb at around 5mb/s it dropped to 56kb/s… anyone else encounter this before?
I still have 200+ gb left in my monthly plan…

There's 3 main types of throttling, you probably got throttled for the 2nd type

Peak hours throttling
Fair usage throttling
Throttling after exceed usage ( unlimited plans )

Just FYI even though in the T&Cs "fair use" is under the birthday promotion section, it also applies to normal everyday use.

I've been using it to live stream to youtube at 720p at 6Mbps, so after a few hours and I hit 10GB use, they will throttle my speed down to under 1Mbps.

When I emailed them about it this is their reply:

"The usage of your data is for your own personal use and is subject to giga's fair usage policy.

If we determine that you have exceeded our fair usage policy beyond a threshold at any time as determined by us in our absolute discretion, we may impose a speed limit on the applicable Service."
Zzz this is lame. If it’s fair usage throttling, they throttle, you’d never finish using all the data you provide? Like I have 200+ gb, if use 5gb they throttle, say one day I can use 6gb because it’s throttled.
How to finish using my 200+ gb???

if it's for fair usage, the speed should revert to normal by the next day cycle. Why were you downloading such a big game on the data but not on Wi-Fi ? On 5G it might more lax right now as there is more bandwidth and less subscribers.

Giga allows data roaming to only 34 countries, much less than Starhub. My understanding is Giga will be able to receive sms even if i do not apply for data roaming for these countries.

Can i still receive sms in countries where Giga does not allow to data roam but Starhub can roam?

Anyone has tried and can help me answer?

Usually if have roaming for voice and SMS enabled, will be able to receive SMS when overseas even if no data roaming (for a particular country), as voice and SMS roaming is usually separate from data roaming. Best to check with giga as I may not be 100% correct.

Giga has no voice roaming.

Is giga working for you guys
I signed their $10.10 for 40GB plan at a retailer shop this January. All good until June, since then the connection becomes bad. I believe many ppl have mentioned Serangoon MRT, me also experiencing no network there. CCL very poor coverage. In NEL and EWL it can connect to network, but TBH the speed is relatively low, at non-peak hours hard to watch 1080p video or open pictures on social media.
This is why I decide to jump to Singtel MVNOs, hope it would be better. (Maybe at last I would find that all the MVNOs would suffer from disconnection in crowded places due to deprioritisation).
