Do not collect your sim card on the 9th.
This is because TPG will only activate your sim at 10th 12++ am, and port in will start on the 10th 12.30am onwards. So your current telco might charge you an extra day/month (your case is by 1 month).

This is an optimist solution if both telco agrees to port over your number. Otherwise, you will need to spend another month.

Is there black and white saying they will pay you for any losses incurred by you in the event porting doesn’t not happen on that day?

Porting over early is to provide yourself a buffer in the event of (1) human error, (2) service backlog and (3) any other unforeseen situation.

We are in Singapore not USA, we always go with the written contract and any goodwill shown is, goodwill.

I have screenshot last month receipt and this month deduction from my credit card to them. They are yet to reply, always answered by that stupid robot!

Of course, there is always the Mr Right after events happened. When I port over to giga! months ago, things went smoothly. But when something happened, there is not a single human to talk to. That's show how suck the organisation is!

I may be kiasi... But I am not the one kena pay one month extra... :o

Of course anyone will want to has time buffer to prevent hiccup happening. Just that I overlook it and rushed to get it done very late.

For Circle.Life, they admitted their fault and waive off one month. It was Giga! when I saw the emailed receipt stated bill from 8th April to 8th May.

So why are they charging me on the 9th when my line was already port over to Circle.Life on 8th May? Then no one to attend to this error?

I always start off saying "Talk to Human". Then humans will attend to. You can try it next time before bots reply you.

8th May is the renewal date and your card will be charged on 8th May 2300hrs. Renewal date is clearly stated on your app (other Giga users can verify) but of course you have no way of checking now. So it's quite clear that your porting happened after 2300hrs on 8th May.

Not sure why you are still harping because CL did not charge you so you simply pay for Giga because you fail to port out before charging time. In that case, you still only pay one month although it's to your previous provider and not current one.

Are you trying, in the unlikely event that Giga refund you, to get one month free usage? :(

Chatted with giga support and they told me that my area has low reception but currently no plans to change anything just yet. No choice, had to port out, reception is just too poor indoors at home. Signed up for grid mobile, waiting for delivery this coming Saturday, not in too much of a rush since my giga cycle ends at the end of the month.

No delivery charge, only charge if you reschedule last minute. They charge the registration and SIM first then rebate back via subsequent bills, the free registration and SIM card is a May promo according to their website.

It's not a big deal on the subscription. If my previously month receipt is stating that 8 April to 8 May. I should not be paying. Just hate those sneaky payment like GIRO used to be yesteryear.

They will just deduct and then refund when you call to check. In this Giga! case, it even worse that no one to talk to about this issue. How to verify then?:o
