Giga's 5G is decent, have been using them since available.

Just wondering if you have tried eight 5G or not. Thanks.

My colleague ported out from giga 5G to eight 5G due to better roaming benefits and he told me no real difference to him.

On the other hand, eight 5G is at S$14.80 per month. Many eight users stay with the S$8 4G plan due to the price gap.

If giga 4G users (S$10.9 and S$12.9 per month) get free upgrade to 5G, that is a good move to show Starhub does not ignore giga users completely.

BTW, I have Starhub Prepaid S 5G plan and I think Starhub 5G network is decent. I have also eight 4G S$8 plan and I feel Starhub 4G network is pretty congested (but coverage is not bad).

Giga customer service is horrendous, they might as well retrench their entire customer service team. All of them are not working yet paid salary!

Btw, cannot even submit problem ticket on their website now.

Contact them via FB, that is the slighty faster way though it might also take sometime to fix your issue.

U can always turn off 5G to use the 4G manually.

got the 5g sim card this afternoon..so far ok..just that Instagram videos and Lazada/shopee images not loading so have to switch to 4g. other than that, all ok..

I used once, not bad, better than eight 4G, CUniq 4G and SIMBA for my short visit to China (South Fujian) in December 2025.

giga China eSIM -- China Mobile 5G NSA, fastest speed.
eight 4G -- China Mobile 4G (second best), but take note eight has changed the roaming partners now.
CUniq 4G -- China Unicom 4G (not as good)
SIMBA -- China Telecom 4G (not as good)

Assuming Giga's travel eSIM performs same as their postpaid, I would rate them very good, on par with ST MVNOs 5G and Eight 5G. Take note that Giga's roaming partners are slightly different from Eight's even though they are both with Starhub. Simba is spotty and always disconnect for me (Indonesia & Taiwan). For some reasons I couldn't get good speed with Hi 5G postpaid in Taiwan, and for Gomo 5G couldn't connect to 5G at all for me in HK & Taiwan.
