i have been trying to activate iMessage and FaceTime for a week now but it's not successful. anyone else experiencing such an issue?

Yes. Me. I got fed up and ported out to MR. There seemed to be a problem activating iMessage and FaceTime with giga.

Hi jitachi, have you got it resolved. In the same situation as you. I ported over to giga now iMessage is stucked waiting for activation. When I tap in setting, iMessage, my number with verifying in the right stuck there.

I ported out to MyRepublic. iMessage is very important for me. So no choice.
I even went for Apple support and gotten my case escalated. There is nothing they could do as well.

Dial * # * # 86583 # * # *. After that, the message " VoLTE Carrier check was disabled " will appear, thus activating VoLTE

This one only works for Xiaomi phones rite?

My iPhone 12 Pro don’t even show VoLTE option. I place the card to iPhone 6s and test VoLTE option is available there.
But same scenario once i make a call, jumps to 3G

Tried not working. I believe it's something to do on Starhub/Giga end. For Starhub last time to get VoLTE must ensure got subscribe their HD Voice VAS that's Free and ensure your phone is officially supported one otherwise got issue. I had similar issue not getting VoLTE on another old old xiaomi phone many years back.

find it damn amusing how come such simple thing overseas outgoing sms cannot be done properly for imessage activation? their IT are managed by kids thats still in school?

Well, giga is a no contract plan so you can port out anytime. The caveat is you lose on the SIM delivery.
