i was using 50gb for 18sgd plan but didn't use past 9gb.
wanted to downgrade to giga cheaper plan but giga didn't reply me.

i am currently on the 9gb 9 dollar.
Use the giga app change.

Open giga app > right hand corner the four lines at the bottom (click on it) > click on change plan / add line > click change plan.

But honestly ah, why would you want to do that?

Actually, $18 is not a lot of money.

You never use pass 9gb or even max out the data allowance (which honestly, is 用不完 won't use finish one), is your 損失... Wasted opportunity.

Just feel free to stream video to your heart's content on giga la.

Enjoy the giga la vida experience. 😎

You know what's the beauty of data use finish will just cut off and won't incur excess data charges unless add-on additional data?

We get to stream video worry free.

I have been with giga for a while, and I'm sure other giga users will agree with me.

In February (17/2 to 16/3), I used up to 42GB, because I streamed video as and when I had the opportunity.

In my current cycle from 17/3, although the cycle almost over already, I only used 25GB, and I still left 95GB, and the unused data will be carried over to the next month.

In other words, the data is like won't use finish one.

And somemore, giga's 50GB (base data allowance) for $18 per month is forever. Won't like after one year revert to less data or whatsoever.

Really the perfect plan for video streaming.

Last time, I envy the Malaysia people for having the digi plan, which offers unlimited data on basic internet, or something like that.

Now, it's good that Singapore is also having that.

The only set back is, the GPS when underground. On the underground MRT, although got data connection, the GPS on the EWL will remain at the last aboveground position (eg. Redhill). NSL no issue with the GPS.

Also, giga data connection sometimes not available during weekday night. Sometimes on the way home in the evening want to use phone to surf net, not able to load YouTube or load Spotify. When test the internet speed, the app will show no connection.

But honestly ah, to be able to stream video with virtually won't use finish data, for just $18 forever, is already a very good deal.

Even if there's no data available on some weekday nights, that's probably because the giga server is under maintenance. Considering I know the data connection will be reliable in the morning and the rest of the day and week, I'm actually willing to accept this, which only happens for about one weekday night every week.

No wonder the giga $18 for 50gb pop-up plan is highly recommended in the 小紅書 app. I personally also recommend the giga $18 for 50gb pop-up plan, which is always offered on monthly occasions like 4.4, 5.5, 6.6, etcetera, etcetera.

Giga la vida~ 😎

Actually, $45 is not a lot of money either. You should just go straight to the 100GB/month plan!

hey, $18 is only 40% of $45.

i don't know what is the plan that offers $45 for 100GB, which by the way it is very expensive, i won't sign up for the plan if i see this being offered.

the $18 for 50GB, first of all is use finish then need to buy additional data (if want), otherwise there's no excess data charge. this offers a sense of financial security.

secondly, giga occasionally offers free additional data to its subscribers. furthermore, the unused data can be carried over to the next billing cycle (if im not wrong, can carry over to maximum two billing cycles).

this is why, as a giga subscriber on the $18 for 50gb pop-up plan, i have 101.1gb of data for my current billing cycle from 17 march 2022 to 16 april 2022, cuz i got 31.1gb rollover data, and i got 20gb free data pack (giga occasionally offers free data pack to its subscribers).

nonetheless, although in another few days time my current billing cycle will lapse already (today is 10 april 2022, still got 6 days), i still have 94.9gb of data haven't use.

the giga data allowance is like won't finish one. no matter how i stream video on the highest quality, as well as listen to music, the data allowance is just won't use finish, which is really wonderful.

having the giga $18 for 50gb pop-up plan is just like having an unlimited data plan, can surf internet on data to our heart's content.

in summary, if $18 already have won't use finish data, i think having the $18 plan is very good already, no need to sign up for more expensive plan.

thank you for recommending the $45 for 100gb plan. nonetheless, i really do not need or want to replace my current giga $18 for 50gb forever pop-up plan. :)

Data bundle is good ONLY if one utilize them.

Simi roll-over, unlimited, 180GB/month etc are useless unless one uses it. But if one has to force oneself to stream videos all day long just to utilize the data bundle then there is no point is it?? 🤔

If 6Gb data per month is sufficient then why bother buying X million GB?? Just because it's cheap/worthwhile? :frown:

Just choose the plan that suit your lifestyle la

okay, you have a point.

based on my current billing cycle data usage, i only need 30gb of data.

but,

if i change plan, the right-size plan is 40GB for $20. which i find it unreasonable, cuz my current plan is 50GB for just $18 forever.

unless, got plans by other telcos, that offers no excess data charge, and at least 30GB for less than $18.

nonetheless, i think other than giga, the other one is vivifi, and probably zero1, etcetera. all are 50GB for $18, or $17.99, etcetera. which is essentially $18.

i will keep a lookout for telco plans with no excess data charge, which offer at least 30GB for less than $18.

until then, i will continue to subscribe to the 50gb for $18 forever giga pop-up plan. 😎

Good for you... that is exactly what I meant, select a plan that suits one's lifestyle, usage pattern or simply "because I like to subscribe to XXX telco".

No need to question why others are not using a particular plan as it is sooo cheap/worthwhile/value for money or what not.

nonetheless, if want to compare on price alone,

Malaysia's digi has a prepaid plan that offers 30GB for 35 MYR, which is equivalent to 11.3sgd.

Taiwan's 亞太電信 has a plan that offers unlimited data for 299twd, but on 24 months contract, which is equivalent to 14.1sgd.

I think our Singapore 10sgd telco plans would be the cheapest of them all, if only compare based on price.

nonetheless, still need to consider data usage. if not enough data usage, also no point.

ownself see which telco plan is most suitable to the data usage bah.

Singapore plans were way higher than other countries until the MNVOs came in.

You need to compare overseas telcos to our 3 telcos. Our 3 telcos still more expensive

Giga SMS fail to work yesterday (23 Mar) again. Just received a series of bank alerts for transactions made yesterday.

Second time I noticed. First time was on 7 Mar. Not sure if there are more in between as I don't do financial transactions everyday.

If this continues I will have to port out of Giga to Vivifi. With so many scams going on nowadays, it is important to receive bank alerts timely.
Giga SMS not working for my line again. This is the 4th time since Mar 2022.

Just tried to make a online payment by credit card and did not receive SMS OTP. I then tried to login to UOB internet banking choosing OTP authentication also did not receive SMS. 😩

Could receive SMS from family member but not banks....

Edit : Tried CIMB and Singpass. Also no SMS received.
Am I the only one ?

Edit 5.30pm : After about 30 min delay, received 16 SMS all at the same time.

Hey guys! If I want to port out of Giga and my billing cycle is 1st of the month, by which day should I trigger the port in at the target mobile provider to avoid incurring the next month's subscription? 25th of the month enough? Or 20th of the month?

If it doesn't fail, porting can be completed the same night (sometime between 11pm & 2am).

If it fails, then you need to go sort out what the problem was with your current telco (Giga in this case) & then get your new telco to try again (usually is outstanding bill, or wrong line owner). That's easily at least 3 business days (if you are lucky) or more.

Bottomline, if you are sure everything is ok with your current telco, 25th is fine. However, if you want to be KS a bit, 20th is safer. End of the day, the 5 days difference is not really significant, is it?

After 11pm old sim no signal is normal. but seriously no need to stress ownself so much. Just port out few working days before the next billing cycle to be safe.
