Does changing to cat 5e or cat 6 cable improve the performance? The louya technician said the customer used 5e or cat 6 cable. The dlink cannot take the speed and was burnt...
True?

If you are on 100mbps plan, cat5 is enough. Higher plans require 5e and above. Else will be stuck at 100mbps.

Currently bridging my rg to asus with cat5e and cat6 wires. Can hit slightly more than 200mbps up down.

Folks,

May I ask:

1.) What is the best USB wireless adaptor for Starhub fibre 100?

2.) Does it matter if it is plug into the USB 3.0 port or USB 2.0 port of my PC for the wireless adaptor?

TIA! :)

Even if I am on 100Mbps, cat5 is still not recommended. Get a 5e at least.

2. Usb3.0 is better because we all know how "much" can a usb2.0 does.

just make sure it's a USB 3.0 device that you are plugging into the port, or else the difference will be negligible.

Okay.

Btw, is there a USB 3's wireless adaptor that I can pick it up from any stores now?

I know of only two: Trendnet's TEW-805UB and Edimax's EW-7822UAC. As for their availability, I'm not even sure if SG has started selling them.

That's aweaome, right on top of your max 200mbps plan. :)

I connect a cat5 from the DLink router to my pc in my room, and get the max out of my 100mbps too.

Anyway, my ONT is that Huawei one by StarHub.

Define "affordable". IMO, whether you spend $200 or $300 on a router, if it lasts you at least 2 years, the difference is effectively < the cost of a latte a month. Stretch here - it's a worthwhile investment.
Thanks, was looking at router below $150,at the same time i would like it to be future proof? Heard now Asus n56u and n66u quite popular?
