anyone facing problems with the wireless router that starhub provides? i get intermittent disconnections throughout the day. i wonder if it's the router's problem and whether i should just get my own router.

starhub came and changed the router twice but still got the same issue, wanted them to change the fibre modem but they said it's definitely not the modem's fault if there is a connection.

what wireless adaptor are you using?

Since they already swap 2 routers with you, you should try to see whether the issue is with your adaptor.

mine only 0.5mbps.. i already told SH if this cannot be improved i want to terminate. i cannot access the sites like tudou n youku, cannot load most of the times when i visit them and my gf complaint she cannot access too in the afternoon.. so typically 80-90% of the time these sites are unloadable.. is this a fibre issue with all ISPs or just SH..

any SH fibre users care to share your experiences too.. and your speedtest results on GZ,SZ or other china servers...

Is Starhub the only one with bad connections to China servers? Hopefully Singtel/M1/MyRebpulic/ViewQuest ppl can help verify...

MyRepublic customers have been complaining about terrible connections to China since forever... drop by the MyRepublic thread. No personal experience though...

Getting good results in speedtest.net to a location do not mean streaming, surfing is good.

The websites and streaming servers are not residing in those speedtest servers or providers

Agreed, it serves only as a proxy and there are tons of other factors.

However, being an ex-starhub customer, I can tell with certainty that M1 is better in terms of performance, reliability and customer service for my purpose.

Perhaps I shouldn't even post in the Starhub discussion, my apologies in advance if I offended any diehard fans and no, I'm not affiliated to M1.

true.. i dun even check all these speedtest stuff when i m using cable previously.. its the terrible internet connection that i keep getting since the day i sign up for SH fibre that prompt me to check all these results.. these results dun mean anything but if the results are so bad on these server locations so how do we expect good connection in terms of surfing and video streaming from sites hosting from the same area.. its common sense.. terrible streaming, terrible surfing, video not loading, even youtube videos loadng terribly slow, pages not loading, sites not loading, buffering etc.. internet connection worst then my last cable plan which was a 25mbps plan only.. i thought an upgrade from cable 25mbps to fibre 100mbps will have improved internet connection.. but i didnt expect its the opposite.. terrible.. its a joke SH FIBRE..
