Hello all!

Happy new year!

Anyone facing problem with streaming videos from Funshion all those?

My mum is complaining the speed is very very slow when streaming and when I do a speed test on her phone, I'm getting a 35Mbps download speed.

I'm on a 100Mbps plan btw.

1. phone is not a good benchmark. the adapter used is usually a 1t1r
2. 35Mbps shouldn't be anywhere "slow", the problem might lies with the streaming site or the phone hardware capability of rendering videos.

after switching to fibre, i realised that international speeds drop. torrenting improved exponentially tho. China speeds are just downright bad. are those china streaming sites? funshion, pptv/pps, etc?

felt the same thing when I switch from Starhub Cable to Fibre too. On my old 10mbps cable, speed to China site is like 2x compare to my 100mbps fibre, fibre routing is too slow

hmm i posted my query on M1,MR,VQ threads too.. if its true then why so bad connection to china.. isit the bandwidth pipeline something wrong... haiz..

thot we have a huge chinese population here with all the PRCs .. still so bad connection..

It's China... you also need to think about those hosting sites what sort of connection they have prior to the undersea cables... could be 10-100 mbps type of circuit..... no matter how good the routing is from here to that place wont help matters.

MIC === Made in China.

cable using different pipeline? cos cable connection is faster than fibre for connections to china.

Can't say for sure. No one knows the actual routing and the saturation of the circuit or gateway routing up to China.

Hi , Im currently using 50MBPS maxonline premium, and wanted to upgrade to fibre 300mbps plan.
I am also currently using starhub set top box and home phone line(using motorola modem that connected split with set top box tv point)

The question is, if i upgrade my internet to fibre, can i still use the home phone and set top box line using tv point connection? Bcoz i've read previous posts, that they say must change modem and must fibre also etc...

Thank you..

When signing up, you can advise the sales agent that you'd like to retain voice on the cable modem.

Your TV set top box will continue to run on cable - StarHub's residential TV service is on cable, not fibre.

Okay i understand that, bcoz the situation is,currently i experienced low signal and pixelated on set top box channels especially HD ones due to connecting split with my home phone line...therefore, it is possible to connect my home phone line to the new modem from the opennet fibre line right?

But will there be any disruption or lesser signal, signal loss on internet connection if home phone line is connected together with internet?

I hope you guys understand what i mean.....
