Last time able to hit 150mbps up and down.. look at the speed now...

my speedtest results have always been darn good but the surfing speed is just bad...

the only thing that's fast is torrents. blazing fast.

I tried this, and it worked for me. Surfing is rather fast now.
Maybe you guys can try it.

Google for "Google public DNS". Look for their primary and secondary DNS IP number.
Open dlink router admin page.
Click manual internet setup.
At the bottom there is a DNS section.
Change the primary and secondary DNS IP to Google public DNS IP
Save settings
Surfing problem should be solved.

If this helped you, would be nice to buy me a cup of tea :)

On VoIP?
If not, request for direct ONT and purchase your preferred router at your preference.

If on VoIP, u can still do the same for the router part as above plus a motorola voice enabled modem (approx $25-40 at hwz mktplace). The VoIP modem is for your voice service.

i currently not using the VoIP on fibre. so all i have to do is to call starhub up and tell them i want a direct ONT? then i just plug the ONT to the fibre point and connect my router to the ONT?

Yes. However, starhub will not provide technical support for your personal router.

Alright! There isnt going to be any configuration right? Plug and use?
Any router model popular? On 200mbs plan and the starhub provided router has poor wifi coverage and slow speed over homeplug

Plug and play usually but I will say alittle configuration is required for optimal performance.

I am tilted towards asus router but some people have bad experience with it though.

I feel that starhub fiber is quite ok, for normal light internet usage.

I play dota, watch youtube, download some music now and then. Quite acceptable for my standards.
But some adjustments and changing of settings on the routers is needed.
My own experience, the router settings that the starhub guy sets is not really suitable for my home use. After some changes in the settings, I get no problem for day to day usage at home.

I have generally 3 computers online at any point of time. All doing their thing without complaining of lag. Previously when I was on 10mbps, when 1 computer was on youtube, the other computers will lag.
