anyone encountering issues with their fiber broadband in the north? have encountered intermittent connection issues since last night.

restarting ONT & router does not seem to help at all.

Anyone playing FFXIV? Please do a tracenet. It seem like the routing is a bit screwy.

Used to be

It will work if you connect dir890 to DVG5402.

It will not work if you want to connect dir890 directly to ONT without going throug DVG.

StarHub will need to change the configuration if you want to connect directly to the ONT.

If connecting thru dvg, I presume download speed would be dependent on dvg?
If I get the starhub 868l, will there be improvements from existing dvg?

To change to 868L, get Starhub to make your connection to go direct ONT. If they did not issue you with an VOICE ONT box, request for it as well if required.

For wifi 868 is better that DVG.
Not so much different if you use LAN.

Wireless N to Ac
GbE to GbE

Wired same. Wireless only if the receiving adapters are ac compatible else the only possible upgrade is the range

And of course better coverage yields better speed but not anything way damn fast if on wireless N

yeah you MUST confirm that they note down you want direct ONT, not bridge to your RG.

The CS who recontract for me over the phone didnt take down that I requested direct ONT. When the technician came, he told me his instructions (clearly stated on the receipt) was bridging and i was like wtf :s8: Worse still, since direct ONT was not provisioned, i dont understand why starhub somehow disabled my fibre connection since fri morning till today, and on their side they also can't explain why was it like that.

bloody pissed off with their lack of communication, i doubt i'll have any connection for the rest of the week especially since CNY is coming
