hi all, I recently upgraded from 200mbs to 1gbs plan. Strangely, over wireless, via an ac1200 adapter, my upload speed is consistently slower than my upspeed, by nearly half. This resulted in my upspeed to be even slower than in the past.

The results seem too consistent to be a coincident. Is there some seting that I need to tweak?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

what u mean by yr upload speed is slower then upspeed?

Fibre, i have done speedtest, upload and download speed ok, but facing intermittent connection problem. It takes longer time for the browser to load websites and lagging when online gaming.

Both direct and wireless connection same issue.

if you are on direct, and you face intermittent connection, most probably is starhub backend problem. in the beginning i also had this. they come tell me their side all settled already. but i still had it. after a while of continuously trying, suddenly become stable. another alternative you can try, is enter your router and clone your pc mac address.

Recently, I upgraded to the 1Gbps plan..... they came and exchange a new ONT..... was okay till yesterday when suddenly my connection ki siao..... on and off..... call SH... and expected say nothing wrong, must be my Asus router...... kns... before they change the ONT... nothing wrong... just about 1 week after they change ONT, problem surface....kns.... don't know what to do.... :s8:

i also had this. but i was from ST to SH. they tell me say it was a temporary connection, and starhub end haven't completed the order. but the next day still have. i play around also cannot, call them they also like not helping. try cloning pc mac address from your router. might help?

do note that after cloning, my max download speed was 300+mbps only (i was on 500mbps fiber), no idea if it's just me or what. but when i off the cloning, suddenly everything can work, and download speed went to 500mbps, on wired of course.

btw guys, i found an old asus n10u lying around.. currently trying out using it as a repeater. would just like like to check something regarding the halved bandwidth.. i am on the 500mbps fibre band, by halved bandwidth, does it mean that the router can only transmit up to 250mbps of wireless connection? which i think is sufficient enough for wireless right? and oh, will wired connection get halved bandwidth too?

Come to think of it... 2 years back when I upgrade speed from 50 to 200.... face same issue.... on and off drop signal.... pretty unstable.... but after a while. ... it suddenly kind of settle down... dont know... leave it for a while and see how it goes....today seem okay.

Hey guys, I solved my problems with my wifi adapter disconnecting. After tons of troubleshooting both drivers and windows power settings it apparently is an issue with the wifi adapter synergizing poorly with my settings

What I did to solve my upload issues(which crashed my usb n-66 wireless adapter are thusly)

1. Tcpip\Parameters\DisableTaskOffload (had to create the new dword as it didn't exist) and set it to "1"

2. Employed similar settings to the below in netsh

http://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-usb-n66-performance-and-issue-track-how-to.21139/

Hope this is useful for anyone else experiencing sub-par performance with certain models of adapter dongles

Are you on Direct ONT? If yes, then no need to call them, just swop the router.

AC68U is a very good router.

Yours is VeONT ?

IIRC, the newer ONT is direct by default, which means can plug to any router.

ASUS or Linksys AC router is worth to invest but not cheap....

Linksys comes with junk firmware. Please check if the router you are getting supports third-party firmware else - DO NOT GET IT.

D-Link Router model ?

It will determine if you are on Direct ONT or not.

when signing up new fiber plan with SH, do I have to tell them I want direct ONT, or no need already? cos planning to get a different router.

The bundled D-Link router does not support VLAN tagging so in this case you're already on direct ONT.
