Wouldn't it be better you get them to email you in black & white what is in the package. What is chargeable and what's not.

Also do remember to ask early termination and once contract over .

I just signed up with their homehub1000 plan (1000mbps). I am receiving like 30+ mbps through wireless and I'm like directly near the router they provided (dlink 868l). Is there any problem with the router?
Using wired, I'm receiving like 900mbps

IMHO, weak wifi signal has nothing to do with ISP, instead it is the router.

Maybe the router is not positioned in an ideal position, or too many walls between your device & the router.

In my old HDB flat, I only need 1 router in my living room to have wifi coverage for whole house. In my new HDB flat, I need 1 router in utility closet + 1 AP in MBR then can cover whole house.

During renovation, I noticed there are iron bars in the walls (even those non load-bearing walls). These walls & iron bars will cause your wifi signal to attenuate.

Look like the built-in wifi adapter is 2.4Ghz Band which is why u r getting 35Mbps DL.

In order to get higher wifi throughout, u need a client wifi AC adapter which can connect to the D-Link AC router on the 5Ghx band.

Hello does this mean if I get a WiFi AC adapter, but using 2.4ghz band I cannot get a higher speed? Or at least better than 35mbps?

There are numerous issues highlighted here and on their own community forum. Yet people are still signing up with them and then complaining about slow speed, poor support etc.

Firstly, their tecnhical support is notoriously crap, just forget about any decent or quick solutions when problems arise. Secondly i have already warned about high latency spike ups during peak hours. After 4 weeks, this issue is still there. Latency to international sites is still poor and you will definitely notice the difference/lag when gaming or streaming HD videos.

Do some research before signing up with them, it will save you a lot of trouble later on.

I'm one of the few who renewed with them despite knowing how their technical support is like. Staying on due to hub club benefits. But I dun complain and jus accept whatever speed is given as to me its still acceptable. Only thing the new router they gave -dlink 850l wireless range is sucky in terms of speed and range

I don't think anything's gonna change. They have been giving out these crappy dlink routers for a couple of years now.

I agree. Ironically, the previously DLINK 865L router that was given for my 100mbps fibre has faster speed and longer range. Still using that today for my 200mbps fibre. They can give the promised speeds if u r on cable. But when it comes to routers,I guess the best is to get one on ur own if u wan best speeds and range....

I feel also no pt signing for 1gbps and complaining can't gt promised speeds cus wireless can't hit that speed? Its more of a trouble I feel....

I feel that starhub fibre is ok,jus dun expect too much from them. In recent years promotions are getting less attractive and tempting. In fact their attitude now is either u take it or leave it,unlike in previous years which they will go all out to woo customers with attractive benefits, freebies etc....

I'm staying on cus of hubclub,my parents wants to subscribe to cable tv,and all hp services get discount with it. In fact the recent PC show I saw viewquest has got quite good deals of $42/mth 1gbps fibre plan. With the advent of IPTV and android tv boxes,I guess its time to say goodbye to cable tv...

yes same for many. If one day this drop in subscription affect their revenue by a significant margin. I reckon authorities will be used to block such contents making it illegal. Using intellectual property as main excuse. After all the big boys all have same mother.
Making ppl pay subscription then pay for content and additional content on top of extra box rental. Then bit till price go up. Then say no choice. At one time we need 2 boxes! We pay radio and TV licence fee!

I agree. They can block the streaming of such apps, and claim that intellectual property is violated... Bt these days many ppl are torrenting movies n dramas...

WIFI AC adapter must connect to the 5Ghz band to get the highest possible speed.

Eg. Speedtest on my Mac Mini's 5Ghz Band is about 130Mbps Download, one wall away.

I just don't understand I have been on the HomeHub plan for almost a year and I have not experienced any major issues. Most of the issues are caused by the default router issued by Starhub, bad configuration on the router or wifi signal congestion.
