Can someone using Stream help test if you face this problem?

When downloading a game via Steam on Maxinfinity, when thoughput hits 2.2 - 2.5 Mbps, certain sites e.g.Facebook cannot load. While other sites loads fine. Speed from speedtest is also fine.

I am suspecting that during the download, it has max out the overseas bandwidth and sites like facebook which cannot be serve by local cache server, have no overseas bandwidth to load the page. Other sites appears ok as they are served by the cache servers.

Tech came and installed today, running DVG-N5402SP, Firmware B046. Not much difference from my old cable plan, still getting 2.0-2.5mbps on Usenet downloads.

SLOWWW torrent speeds

Hi all,

can anyone help me with this?

Just got the Fibre 100 plan from SH, and the torrent speeds are v iffy.

Unable to get ANY seeders at all.

Initial speed is fast (2 MB/s) then it drops drastically to a dismal 0.3K / sec.

Using Bittorrent on Mac, any suggestions?

Must appreciated in advance.

Thanks!

Okie... I ask I still Con-fused... :D:s8:

My setup is

TP>> ONT>> HG256>>> CAT 6 CABLE trunking about 15mt.>>> Desktop Computer (direct Plug)... the rest of my notebook/Tablet using wireles....

So looking at MarineX setting, knowing that slowhub does not allow replacement of router..... can I do the following bridging method??

1. TP>>> ONT>> HG256>>> CAT 6 CABLE>>> Asus Router>>> Desktop Computer

OR can only do it this way only

2. TP>>> ONT>> HG256>> Asus Router>> CAT 6 Cable>>> Desktop Computer direct plug

what talking you? 1 and 2 the same what.

anyway, starhub allows direct own router if your reasoning is good

Hi All,

I have a quick clarification to make, from the netwrok diag below assuming that I want the Dlink 655 router to do the DHCP IP assignments, are the assignment of my internal network IPs to the individual PCs correct ?i.e. all the PCs should be in the 192.168.0.xxx range. Should the gateway and DNS be pointing to the Dlink 655 (192.168.0.1) router or the RG (192.168.1.1)? see green circle.

Also, PCs 1,2,3 and NAS IP should be assigned by the 655 (192.168.0.xxx) or the RG (192.168.1.xxx) ? I got confused here... I want PC 1,2,3,NAS to see the rest of the network as well. How do I do that?

HmeNetwrk.jpg

Also, by setting DMZ at the RG would the network be vulnerable to attacks, if I do not set the DMZ does that mean my internal PCs cannot access the internet?

Many thanks.

Just a single mistake on your network diagram, instead of having 2 WAN ports connected, just connect to 1 instead.

The reason why PC1,2,3 and your NAS can't see the rest of the devices is your PC Cove area is considered as a single subnet whereas MBR and Living room is combined into 1 subnet. So total you have 2 logical subnets.

1. Switch the cable on your MBR Dlink-DI655 Router WAN port to port number 4.
Reason is, you already connected ONT to WAN port on Dlink DVG-N54022SP. This is to reduce network collisions on your home network.

2. Having DMZ-IP 192.168.1.2 for Dlink-655 WAN port will leave all your devices behind it vulnerable to attacks. If you need few devices on the DMZ, just do a port forward 0-65555 setup on Dlink DVG-N5402SP.

3. You can run DHCP on those 3 router you have as long the address pool does not collide. i.e 192.168.1.100-110 on DVG-N5402SP, 192.168.1.120 - 130 on DI655, and 192.168.1.140 - 150 on DI524. OR you could have a single DHCP server on DVG-N5402SP for easy management.

4. If you need different subnets, just use VLAN on each router.

If you need more help, just pm me as I rarely look into this thread.

The only diff is first one the Asus Router is near the ONT and HG256... the second one the Asus Router is near to my desktop computer, 15mt away....

Just wondering can hook up either way?? If Yes, will method 2 be better since it is near to desktop computer and near to my bedroom where most of time I surf my tablet and notebook...

OR

I use method 1, where I still use diret plug to my Desktop Computer and "hopefully" the Asus router which is 15mt away from my room is "stonger" and more "powerful" than the Huawei one...

PS... I no convincing enough..... SH still tell me cannot.... wont want to **** them then later kena banned and lawyer letter....:D:s8:
