Yup. They suggested connecting the PC directly to ONT while for wireless, activate my older Motorola cable modem. Im quoting verbatim as per their latest email.

Anyway, hope the problem's gone permanently. Never encountered such a long period of time without encountering it once, so believe they must have done something. Min frequency at the start was once every 2 days.

No lags when streaming videos from Youtube. Can get 100mbps on 1080p video(info from "Show Video Info").
Avg 1megabyte/second for each torrent, and max i get on overall is 4-6mb/s

I just checked my HG256s router and realised that there is not USB port. Is that normal? Im with starhub max infinity. Since I double NAT, my asus router cannot use ddns service!

what i hate abt the Huawei router is it is not as robust as asus RT-N56U.
Just disconnected my ESR9850 from the router (un-DMZed it), and the wireless (provided by my Huawei) really suffers.

EDIT: After a reset of the router (to remove the DMZ setting as router refuse to issue IP address even after reboots after un-DMZing from my ESR9850) my voip (home phone line) REFUSE to work!
My relatives cannot call in the number and VOIP light on the Huawei never light up. Did numerous restarts on my Huawei but cant work.
I'm gonna flare up again! They still havent learnt their lesson
This issue had been ongoing for the past 12 hours.
No issues on the Internet, but I'm not going to take this issue lightly

in Dlink there is a feature called Virtual Server.
in Dlink there is another feature called port mapping.

in ESR9850 there is a feature called port mapping as well.

in Asus... i have not even seen the webui before so can't comment.

i see. what i am trying to do is using the IP that starhub gave, map it to the ftp server connected to the asus router... dont know if that is possible or not. Anyway I stick a thumbdrive into the hg256s, still cannot use it as FTP server, any idea why is it like that? file format already fat32.

because no matter how i tried the settings in post #986 it doenst work. He seems to be using an older firmware. Mine is on Firmware Version:3.0.0.3.108.

I changed the vids to 1071 prior 1... still no go. i might have done something wrongly.
