Made a phone call to Starhub to request removal of VLAN on the nuclues connect modem.

telling me downtime is 24hrs.

IMHO, how long does it take to change a VLAN to non-vlan mode.. its just a simple command and it shouldn't take more than 10minutes.

They are just playing it safe. Should be shorter than 24hrs typically.

Using the DVG-N5402SP for almost a month without any issues. But for the past few days, connection's been dropping or cut off oddly. The wireless connectivity is there, cept there does not seem to be internet connection. Affects all my devices (including the LG Smart TV via Lan, my Windows / Macs via wifi, and even the VoIP).

My solution so far has been to switch off both the ONT & Router for a couple of mins, then boot them up again.

I would assume this problem is with the ONT and not the router? What should i do?

I do switch off the ONT and Router every night before sleep.

When the problem occurred, what is the LED status of the DLINK HG?

can i check if the black ONT provided functions like M1? in the sense that tel line can be connected to ONT and still use our own router?

Can anyone advice where I can get asus rt56 router at reasonable price? Do I need to inform starhub if using this setup ONT >> Router.

I do not use VOIP.

Current setup is bridging. ONT >> Starhub router >> Engenius ESR8950.

Thank you.

If using ONT -> RT-N56U, you can either
1. Setup VLAN tagging in RT-N56U and use it on your SH MIF immediately
2. Call 1633 and request for Direct ONT (This will have downtime)

If using ONT -> ESR9850.
1. Call 1633 and request for Direct ONT

Do you know if for vlan tagging there is a preset on the RT-N56U for starhub fiber?

Thank you.

:D

For mines on latest stock firmware 1.0.1.8l there's no starhub fiber preset.
i'm currently using maxinfinity 100mbps with my RT-N56U direct ONT. :D
the only way is to manually type in vlan and priority

Hope this helps

After 2 seperate calls from the customer support,I will have to wait for another call while my request for ONT >> own router is being escalated and for advice on downtime.

Hope it will happen on the third call.

it depends if u have history of reported problem on ur bundled router, else u have to insist on wanting to use ur own router. if can proceed with direct ONT, u have to wait abt 1 week for NC to process the request from starhub, and it will be completed on the day itself starhub stated the date of conversion. after that u can connect ur own router.
