Have you tried the StarHub overseas speed test? Also try this:
https://app.netrounds.com/speedtest/bbq/
(select Amazon US-West and also try Amazon Singapore).

Can any kind soul teach me how to change the channel for my huawei gateway? Seems to be quite slow lately and connection is poor. Starhub advise me to change the channel to improve it but a quick googling doesn't really say much. so i am asking for help here. thanks in advance!

Are you referring to control channel? Try using inSSIDer and look for the least congested channel. Subsequently, change to that channel.

agree. They dun koe how to bridge dlink to n56...and made a mess

nope, is not their job to learn it anyway.

if you are lucky enough, sometimes the engineer himself is well versed with network he could render good support.

IMO, don't rely too much on them.

the funny thing is the technician claims that he knows. That he set until my wireless is 1mbps inside room. Then he said heng he didn't buy N56...
Show him the settings on starhub community but he set no need all these settings, k work one. Faintz
At least they finally come down to setup so didn't get angry.
Even on wired he told me maximum can only get 97mbps.
So after he went off, i went and adjust the settings myself on dlink and n56.
And i could get 170mbps on wired and ard 50mbps on 5ghz.. ard 25ghz on 2.4gh.
Starhub tech must improve. Heard Republic technicians very good lor.

as mentioned, his job doesnt require him to learn all of these.

MR uses ASUS Router also, obviously they have to know what to do.

No I mean they more dedicated...
If they find that the speed is no good, they come back test another day.
Just wonder if all republic tech is like that
