Return the router and get the 3000 points. Ask for direct ont and get an Asus router.
There is no "all-in-one": the fibre connection is terminated by the ONT and every fibre subscriber needs to connect a router or gateway to the ONT. The ONT does not need to be changed if you switch ISPs and will continue to work.
And the D-Link DVG home gateway they used to provide, which integrated Internet access and VOIP into one router, had such ludicrously bad wireless performance that sufficient customers complained to get Starhub to change the router offering to the current 865L, at the expense of having to get an additional modem for digital voice.
It's not really a case of trolling when you already have a voice-enabled cable modem to access VOIP services with. It's very much intended to save you the headaches of really abysmal wireless performance, unless you have a better wireless router/AP to connect/bridge to the D-Link integrated gateway or something.
In which case, you should contact Starhub and convey to them your (rare) wish of swapping the 865L for the DVG home gateway. Not sure if you can just purchase it from them or something. And the home gateway needs to be registered on their side or something for it to work.
I think the point here is that Starhub has already made a big move in heeding customers' complaints and phasing out the infamous DVG home gateway. We aren't fanboys or representatives from Starhub, but I think we have to be objective here. Gribber and many of the more experienced Starhub subscribers here know because we were (repeatedly) conveyed explanations by official Starhub reps about how the setup works back when the DVG home gateway was still being distributed and we wanted to replace it with our own routers.
This is quite bad. I am currently on M1 100mbps @ $39 and have never faced disconnections. The speed and stability have improved in fact over the last 1 year, perhaps due to competition. If Starhub offers the same service plus cable and VOIP, i am sold. Channels for the red and orange teams cant make it, except for football fans.
is it possible to contact starhub to switch the dvg set with this new router? There is no "all-in-one": the fibre connection is terminated by the ONT and every fibre subscriber needs to connect a router or gateway to the ONT. Hi guys!
I'm currently on MaxInfinity 200 Mbps plan but I can't seem to achieve that speed even on wired connection (that is, through Ethernet cat 5E cable connected to the router)
I'm only getting about 150 Mpbs from speedtest.com.sg. Any idea??
Wireless i'm getting only about 40plus mbps for 2.4 GHz band (channel 2, 20mhz) and 70plus for 5 GHz band (auto for both channel and width). The wireless settings mode is set at N only for both bands and security at WPA2/AES.
I have different SSID as well.
*PS* Im using the ONT and Dlink 865L provided by Starhub (not direct ONT) if that helps...
Can swap my current Dlink router DVG to asus ? Wat of sort of setting or configuration I need ?
The plan price drop. You can try call them and see whether they willing to upgrade to 200 mbps for you.

The Singapore Broadband Speed Test - Speedtest publicly states their speedtest is inaccurate for speed above 100mbps, they throttle..
Note: This speed test caters for Internet connection speeds up to 100Mbps. If your connection is greater than 100Mbps, you may not get accurate results.
same as Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test... i notice most of it cap speed at about 100-150mbps as well
I don't get your point for saying all these - I already know all that, except for the fact that there is no possible "AIO" ONT; thank you. Now I am pretty sure that I have no other choice but to use the old AIO solely for the voip service, which is kinda sucky.
the "troll" issue is that they did not offer any other options other than ONT + dir-865l, while Gribber said it was "impossible" that they did not offer other options when he himself wasn't there at the point of deal between Starhub POC and myself, and further criticising my "attitude" when he simply tried forced his assumed scenarios unto me, acting like what most would call a "fanboy". Simple as that.
I have too been actively contacting Starhub since the old 15mbps days regarding various ways to hook up to their net and I appreciate that they did manage to bridge certain expectations, albeit rather slowly.
a few of my friends using m1 also reported rather good connection speeds. if not for the multi-service discount (with mobile), we would not have renewed and upgraded to fibre.
for now, i've managed to stop the dc by not running that one single torrent that overloads it. too many incoming/outgoing connections for the router to handle, i think.
speaking of mobile, m1 is the only one that offers REAL per-second billing now.![]()

Gribber has problems sometimes, but you aren't a saint either. The impression you gave is that you came here wanting to pick a fight rather than have your issue solved, because of your aggressive reply to a simple query:
Hence my long reply as you seemed to have issues with whatever explanation that was given to you earlier.
Either way, that's OT.
If you want to swap your DVG for the new router, I'm interested to know too.
I jump from M1 to SH, your friends never face d/c is due to they sleep before 2 am at night.
Seriously, I personally feel that M1 offer a more stable connection than starhub.
I'm a bit regret after jumping to SH, my 100 mbps SH in some of the webby still lose to my 50 mbps M1.
I don't whether is my browser issue or SH, as I recently using IE, some of the link I click do not have any reaction.

KNN my current speed for 200Mbps![]()
are you using the default router given by SH?![]()
this speed while unlimited upload/download going on in my utorrent. still can browse the web rather smoothly.
with cable, when my torrents are put to max, automatically cannot load webpages (only torrenting works) after like 1 minute. fibre is definitely a good choice.
