StarHub MaxInfinity Fiber Optic - Experience

StarHub customers from Pasir Ris, Telok Blangah, Yishun, Tampines, Bishan and Sembawang complained about their loss of Internet and phone services on the telco’s Facebook page.

I am not in the above areas but my fibre is down. There are definitely more affected.

That report by yahoo is just based on the peeps who kpkb on fb. If they checked other forums like here, can see it's not just those few areas.

Someone said IPV6 is up now after the outage.

Anybody having trouble with Google DNS?
Can't ping 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.

Have switched to OpenDNS for the time being.


EDIT 7.39pm:
can ping 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 now but latency is high (160ms).
it's not going to the local sg site for sure.

At first i thought its the DNS, i changed it, but issue still there.

If i am not alone having the problem, i will chase starhub, if its only me, i dunno how to solve the problem.

No, i'm using starhub's DNS. Seems to be fine now. As mentioned before, this issue seems to pop up every now and then. It doesn't affect all the websites, only certain urls.

I had this issue yesterday. One of my newsfeed software disconnects every 5 to 10 mins. It seems to be normal again now, so i have no idea what's going on. Are you still experiencing the problem?

Using the dlink wireless AC1200 adapter, I only managed to get this type of speed.



Time to call Starhub tml.

Same here Bukit Panjang... on off thingy for the pass, since June....

A lot of Request time outs when I did a /ping *ip address* -t

Called them up god knows how many times. Probably made more calls to them these pass few mths for the whole 5 years.

Using 5ghz or 2.4ghz? Wireless speed is not good represention of your subscribed plan, there's too many factors that will make it under-perform from what you subscribed.

The d-link adapter doesn't have very strong signals to begin with, your speed is decent already.

I would say it is awesome to get this speed thru wireless. IMHO

StarHub is building the great firewall similar to China. It want to filter everything.
