yeah you MUST confirm that they note down you want direct ONT, not bridge to your RG.

The CS who recontract for me over the phone didnt take down that I requested direct ONT. When the technician came, he told me his instructions (clearly stated on the receipt) was bridging and i was like wtf :s8: Worse still, since direct ONT was not provisioned, i dont understand why starhub somehow disabled my fibre connection since fri morning till today, and on their side they also can't explain why was it like that.

bloody pissed off with their lack of communication, i doubt i'll have any connection for the rest of the week especially since CNY is coming

The person who came over can still proceed to set it up for you, contact starhub and get it updated although he will not be there to see everything and is not neccessary anyway

I was thinking the same way too, since its already down why cannot just change it to direct ONT? SH says direct ONT requires another few days to process the direct ONT request :( Earliest they start processing would be Mon, and due to CNY might get delayed somemore. Besides, the guy who came over can't do much, when my fibre has been down-ed by starhub :s22:

talked to SH CSO, said they are trying to fix the issue first. 24 hours to find the problem, 24 hours or more to fix the issue

problem with starhub is they are not flexible.

I am migrating out of it on the coming IT Show 2015.

Gents, two questions. I am planning to sign up HomeHub 200 (fiber).

What AC router am I getting? Is it a DLINK 868L?

Lastly, can I purchase a Asus AC68U independently and replace the free AC router?

You better think twice better signing up with starhub. I suggest you scan this thread for some of the feedbacks.

They always have some form of connection issues every one or two month. At this time of writing, i am getting intermittent disconnection on my line. A few others have reported the same on their community forum.

Their technical helpdesk which is as good as useless has been well documented on this thread, so no need to go further into that.

Starhub really needs to bulk up. Their connection went down for one whole evening on a day in October which was also reported on CNA. A few weeks later i had a connection issue which ultimately went away the next day. Now i am getting intermittent disconnections on my line. This has been going on since Monday.

Reading their community forum, seems like several users have reported this issue during this past 1 or 2 weeks.

They have never failed with some form of disruptions to their connection every 2 months, and their technical helpdesk never seems to know anything about any issue. Pathetic.

Well dunno if it have anything to do with their new routing overseas or their oversea bandwidth provider.

I called them up regarding their routing to JP. Still in contact with them, they did call me back a few times already, due to they also waiting for a response.

A few things you can try, Tell the guy over the other end of the phone about the issues. So far, when I get the "please key in your nric followed by the #key" during the automatic voice select, I know the guy over the other end is better.

After telling him the issues, ask for a Ticket number so you can email direct to the helpdesk with short write up of what is going on, tracert, ping test, etc.

After that wait for a few days. (>...>

Forget about their lvl 1 support, they will ask you to reboot the modem, send traceroute etc, all these get you nowhere. Almost all of the time, the issue is at their end, nothing much the end users can do about it. I have got this intermittent disconnection issue last week over 3 days and its gone away.

I once blew my top after my issue was unsolved over a few days and asked why it took so long, the guy on the line actually admitted that the last few persons never actually attended to my case, thus it dragged on and on. However, their helpline has improved over the last few months, probably due to the amount of complaints they received.

Just upgraded to 1Gbps. Using same old AC-66U. But seems like cannot get any significant speed improvements. Only my Iphone6 on AC hit 270+ mbps. Is there a speed limit on N 5ghz?
