Going back to the SH shop to do my cancellation and recontract tomorrow. If somehow they still tell me i am not eligible then i will just call the hotline and let the CSO and shop staff sort it out among themselves. Worse come to worst i can always go signup with M1 3gbps for $33 per month with free router.

Actually that is by design in the case of SingTel. Different teams (sales channels) kind of compete with each other.
OT abit but since you are the guru, don't mind me asking but for the free router bundled with M1 3gbps plan. which among the TP-Link or Asus is the better choice?

Better to ask M1 related question in the M1 thread next time.
It will probably depend on your situation. Both are low end dual band WiFi 7 rotuers (BE3600).

TP-Link Archer BE230 --> dual 2.5G ports, three 1G ports
Asus RT-BE58U --> single 2.5G port, quad 1G ports, better FW features

If you have existing Asus routers and want to use AIMesh, then choose RT-BE58U. If you prefer Asus FW features, you should also go with RT-BE58U.

If not, then Archer BE230 is better with dual 2.5G ports.

Side track but relevant since there are probably plenty of people port out from Singtel here.
Anyone knows if we need to initiate anything to get refund for our final Singtel bill?
Or Singtel will automatically refund through credit card?

Got played a fool by SH. Went back to SH shop this afternoon and they insisted the $29.95 3gbps promo is only for new sign-ups. I showed them these 2 links which made no mentioning that it was a new signup only offer
https://www.starhub.com/personal/forms/hubbing/3gbps-broadband-exclusive.html
https://www.starhub.com/personal/st...speed-3gbps-ont-at-2955_ultraspeed-3gbps.html

Then they showed me this
https://www.starhub.com/personal/promotions/new-homeowners.html

Mother trucking time wasters. Got frustrated and went to signup with M1 instead. Got offered port-in/new signup offer for 6gbps @ $34.90 with free TP-Link BE805. Conclusion, customer loyalty be damn since all the telcos only interested in gaining new subscribers. In that case customers should just jump ship or port in to other telcos every 2 years in order to enjoy better promos.

Don't know and i don't really care. But from this https://www.starhub.com/personal/promotions/new-homeowners.html can likely interpret it as only for different residential address.

When i did my port-in at M1 they did ask to produce a copy of SH bill for verification. Might be wrong but seems like nowadays telcos consider new sign-ups as per residential address instead of IC holder aka once you sign up to a promo using your address, 2 years later the same address but different peron/IC holder can no longer be considered new signup at the same telco.

But never mind, M1 deal is also good. Welcome to M1!

My initial plan was to stay with SH to minimise any disruption but what peeved me off was that their customer hotline and in-store staff tell totally different things. Not my part as customer to fault find for them and see who is right or wrong. But they lost me as a subscriber who has been with them since SCV days.

I wanted to check whether cancelling my current plan and signing up under a new account would have better offers. CSO on phone said better offers for the new customers and not me. But when I went to the Starhub Store, they said that there's an offer of $30.37 for 5gbps plan (ONT+710). Is this a good deal?

That is a very good offer -- in fact it is the same as the previous special recontract offer at S$30.37 per month with ONT+HB710. It is rather comparable to the previous good new user 5Gbps offer at S$29.55 per month with ONT + Free HB710. You save the hassel of signing up as a new user.

I thought no more such good 5Gbps recontract offer at S$30.37 already, now that the special new user 5Gbps offer at S$29.55 per month is no longer there.

History of the Starhub 5Gbps offer

1) Initially --> since late 2024
New user offer: S$29.55 per month with Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR + Nokia Beacon 2; or ONT with no free router. Many existing users signed up as new user as well.

2) For a short time earlier this year.
Recontract offer: S$30.37 per month with Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR + Nokia Beacon 2; or ONT with free TP-Link EX510.

3) Later: very good offer
New user offer: S$29.55 per month with ONT with free HB710.
Recontract offer: S$29.55 per month with ONT with free HB710.

4) No more such good 5Gbps new user offer now.
New user 3Gbps offer: S$29.55 per month with ONT with free HB410. Existing users can sign up as new user as well.

Starhub 5Gbps offer with free HB710 online link is no longer valid.

This link redirects to the following 3Gbps offer as of 12-April-2025.

Starhub 3Gbps offer with HB410 (not as good as the 5Gbps offer).

Bro you did not read this thread... but you aren't the only one..
If you had read a few pages up, you'll know that you can sign up after terminating your old one or use a different family member... but yeah M1 for the win ...

Thank you so much as always Xiaofan. It turns out that I could recontract first before relocating to my new place. Will shoot more questions here about networking when it's time!

Tolong leh burden is not on the customer to have to read through 200+ pages in a forum to find out what promos the telcos are offering and ways to avail it. Burden is on the telco to properly train their staff to dispense precise and correct information. Whats the use if they can't even do their jobs properly? But whatever lar....they don't value a 20+ year loyal customer then just jolly well bring my wallet elsewhere.
