I put 1200 sgd each into smartly and stashaway

Stashaway is loosing 10 dollars but at one point smartly earned me 10.( It's currently loosing 1.94 SGD) .

This is for the period of two months. Started Nov 7th

Not putting anymore than this

The way I look at it stashaway has quite the heafty comission fee of 0.65 for loosing me 10 dollars.

The smartly 1.94 was their comission fee. So at least smartly went up for a period.

The main purpose of robo investing is ETFs, which are generally for you to do DCA, not one time premium leave there and expect good returns. You're supposedly to invest monthly and for years to get annualized of 4-7%~

Returns are 0.3% ( SGD ) / 3.2% ( USD) after 3 months. Basically the conversion of SGD to USD when investing and USD to SGD if u are withdrawing is a big drawback to the returns. Unless you can either deposit in pure USD or withdraw in USD.

Hope to see more feedback from you guys who are into this as well.

It really depends on the exchange rate at that point of time. My portfolio is also performing poorly under currency conversion due to the high USD when I first started. I am sure this is the case for you too.

So it seems like there's some level of forex investment here for using stashaway.

When redeeming stashaway, will we be getting the portfolio returns or total returns? Makes no sense to get total returns since the currency impact should have been factored in during the conversion of sgd to usd

A simple way is to always look at returns in your funding currency. So if you are funding using SGD, then look at the returns in SGD, ignore the returns in USD, it makes no sense.

I believe in the future, they should incorporate a FX component in the portfolio to hedge away the FX risk since this is clearly a factor that will eat away the returns.
Don't really mind paying an additional 5-10bp for that ease of mind

Vested little bit in stashaway and autowealth.
Overall, autowealth is performing slightly better. Both positive returns.

0.08% management, fee, promises full transparency in terms of what the portfolio is buying and selling.

This would be subject to dividend withholding

if Stashaway, Smartly etc are also buying US ETFs subject to dividend withholding, then there is no difference in dividend withholding and IB wins due to lower management costs.

I won't be surprised if these smaller players just white-label from IB!

Hi Guys, how is your roboadvisor performing in this turmoil? I read that most of them have moved to gold and bonds.
