It helps your grip if you have sweaty palms. It helps the pain when you do a hook grip, and a hook grip is a stronger grip, so it also helps your grip.

All the best with your enlistment. A week before I got conscripted I front squatted 140kg for a 1RM. Now I'll be lucky to get 100kg. lol

Yeah man!!! Got to get the stats up before going in.....

Some more I'm in PESBP (fat eagles). When I come out I will definitely lose a lot of my strength.

Down by the river.....

I should have never doubted your prediction kacie...

I just deadlifted 200kg raw. Used alternate grip though, so gotta work it up with hook.

Was at SSC Tamp (8.30-9.20pm)

But **** man my blister tore so I won't be deadlifting anything until it covers up.

Newbie here... u guys are strong.

present weight: 72kg
At the gym, these are what i am doing.
All these for 3 sets each.
SQ: 60kg for 6 reps
DL: 60kg for 8 reps
BP: 60kg for 8 reps
Pull-up: 15kg for 6 reps
Dipping: 15kg for 6 reps

all weights above not inclusive of barbell. Pull-up iand dipping is the weight added to belt.

Not looking to be stronger, but looking to be fitter, in terms of VO2 max.

The 1RM calculator in BB.com is based on the premise that you have equal % of slow twitch and fast twitch muscles. In other words, out of all the muscles in your body,50% are fast twitch,50% are slow twitch.

According to the 1RM calculator in BB.com,your 5RM is around 86% of your 1RM.

Some people who is slow twitch dominant might have a 5RM which is 90% of their 1RM.
Those who are fast twitch dominant might have a 5RM which is 80% of their 1RM.

I got these ideas from Christian Thibadeau's Black Book of Training Secrets.

So your 1RM might be even higher than what you calculated if you are a fast twitch guy and vice versa. At the end of the day, this is still an estimate.

Anyway,I think its still better you actually perform the 1RM than punching in some numbers on an online calculator.
